Worship: The Sabbath Declared by GOD Himself / Wellness: How to End a Juice Feast

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  To achieve a fuller and more personal effect of every one of the Ten Commandments, Pastor Flemons suggests beginning the recitation of each of the Ten Commandments with the preamble. Found in the first two verses of Exodus 20, it says this: “And God spake all these words, saying I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” The land of Egypt is a symbol of sin, says Pastor Flemons. And since all have sinned, this statement may apply to everyone in a very personal sense.

Reading each commandment in this way, that is, using the preamble to introduce each commandment, will help you understand that the Sabbath is not a part of the ceremonial laws of Moses, as is often believed. It is the fourth commandment. The Sabbath, in fact, is at the heart of the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments were written with the finger of GOD.

The Sabbath was given as a sign or memorial of creation, according to Genesis 2:1-3. The Sabbath is also a reminder of the salvation plan. Communion with God, especially during the sacred hours of the Sabbath, can help you resist elements that will draw you into temptation. God says that the Sabbath is a sign that you may know that HE is the one that sanctifies you. God said that the Sabbath is a sign between Him and you that you may know that He is the LORD your God. (Read Exodus 20:12, 20.)

Pastor Flemons noted that in the giving of the Ten Commandments, God doubled them twice. And as was explained in the doubling of Pharaoh’s dream, doubling a message means that it is established by God. It also means that God will quickly bring it to pass. (Read Exodus 32:15 and  Genesis 41:32.)

(For additional details, please read Exodus 20 in full; Exodus 31:18; Deuteronomy 4:13; 9:10; Galatians 5:1; and Luke 6:46. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary and personal testimony of Pastor Shelem Flemons, and hear him sing Hymn 388, “Don’t Forget the Sabbath.”)

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, advises eating only raw fruits and vegetables following a lengthy period of feasting on juices. He says that for every three to four days of juicing, eat raw fruits and vegetables for one day. Of course, fruits and vegetables should not be eaten in the same meal. The body that has been subsisting on juiced vegetables and fruits only is not ready to digest heavy meals. There must be a gradual move toward heavier and cooked meals, even if the food is all plant-based.
