Worship: Wasting God’s Money / Wellness: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  A quiet, thoughtful communion with God will better allow the worshiper to hear that still small voice of God, as compared to the noisy, trance-inducing celebratory worship style that excites the passions. Pastor Flemons compared Israel’s celebration worship around the golden calf at the foot of mount Sinai with the celebration style of worship today. The styles are interestingly similar and akin to the Baal worship described in 1 Kings 18:26. (Read Exodus 32; 1 Kings 18:17-39; 1 Kings 19:11-13.) He encouraged listeners to draw a lesson from Israel’s experience, before it is too late. Far from honoring God, their style of worship angered God and His servant Moses. The golden calf was burnt, ground to powder, and cast upon the water. Then Moses “made the children of Israel drink of it.” Their gold was wasted on celebration worship, but put to good use in the building and services of the earthly sanctuary that followed in every detail the heavenly pattern and instruction of God.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Drawing from Psalm 139:14, Pastor Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, discussed in detail how the bones and muscles alone reveal the existence of an intelligent Creator: God. Listen to the recording, which also includes how diseases are able to be reversed by simply cleansing the body system and following the biblical diet and lifestyle, while the world wastes billions on research and medicinal treatment. He also taught an interesting spiritual lesson from the movement of muscles.

Words of Encouragement

Psalm 19:7, 8  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psalm 19:10, 11  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward.
