Worship: GOD Communes with Us / Wellness: Teaching Health Principles

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God always communes with you in a way that develops your character and prepares you for heaven, says Pastor Flemons. When you talk to God, you have God’s undivided attention, as though no one else exists. And No. Of course not. We cannot explain how that is. But it is true.

Exodus 25:22, God says “And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.”

God sits on His throne, above the mercy seat, presenting Himself to us in an amazingly personal way. To experience this communion, we need to pray. Then too, we need to study His Word, where He may lead us to the answer. Whenever and whatever we ask Him, God does have the answer.

Prior to the written Word, God provided a way to guide His people through communion with Him in the Most Holy Place. “Divine messages were sometimes communicated to the high priest by a voice from the cloud. Sometimes a light fell upon the angel at the right, to signify approval of acceptance, or a shadow or cloud rested upon the one at the left to reveal disapproval or rejection.” PP 349

Whatever the answer, it will never lead you away from God’s Law, which is the very foundation of His government. “The tables of His law are embosomed in the ark, together with the mercy seat, before which Christ pleads His blood for those who have transgressed the law, represent ‘the union of justice and mercy in the plan of human redemption. This union infinite wisdom alone could devise, and infinite power accomplish; it is a union that fills all Heaven with wonder and adoration.” PTG

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that giving instruction in healthful living is an often overlooked role of a medical missionary. As you share with others the health principles you have learned, you are being a medical missionary.

“There is sickness everywhere, and most of it might be prevented by attention to the laws of health. The people need to see the bearing of health principles upon their well-being, both for this life and for the life to come. They need to be awakened to their responsibility for the human habitation fitted up by their Creator as His dwelling place, and over which He desires them to be faithful stewards. They need to be impressed with the truth conveyed in the words of Holy Writ: {MH 146.1}

“’Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’ 2 Corinthians 6:16{MH 146.2}

“Thousands need and would gladly receive instruction concerning the simple methods of treating the sick—methods that are taking the place of the use of poisonous drugs. There is great need of instruction in regard to dietetic reform. Wrong habits of eating and the use of unhealthful food are in no small degree responsible for the intemperance and crime and wretchedness that curse the world. {MH 146.3}

“Every gospel worker should feel that the giving of instruction in the principles of healthful living is a part of his appointed work. Of this work there is great need, and the world is open for it. {MH 147.2}

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers call-in listener 6964, who requests prayer for her daughter, who has been suffering painful health challenges and is seeking relief through natural remedies. Also pray for Sis. Bristol’s health and that her faith and hope in Christ will not fail. Another listener asked that we pray wisdom for her niece’s husband (Winston) as he decides his wife’s (Olive) future. She has been on life support for at least two weeks. Pastor Flemons is requesting that we pray for him as he remains in Maryland to nurture a sick individual and train the family for his future health care.

Pray also for those undergoing surgery today and all grieving families (especially spouses). Pray for those fighting for their lives and against depression. Also pray for people living in areas at risk of being destroyed by hurricanes and tornadoes and other natural disasters.

Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you!

Words of Encouragement

Isaiah 58:9, 10  Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity: and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday. (Also read the devotional book, Ye Shall Receive Power, YRP 311.)

2 Corinthians 7:1  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (Also read In Heavenly PlacesHP 348.)
