Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons reviewed the definition of diabetes and how it develops, and focused the morning’s presentation on the symptoms and what they mean.
QT/QT A brief discussion ensued about why the body experiences peripheral neuropathy and preventable amputations. Responding to a prayer request to overcome fear, these Bible texts were shared: 1 John 4:18 and 2 Timothy 1:7.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Focusing on the last part, drawn from the breasts, he taught this as referring to the mother or church. (Refer to Jeremiah 6:2; Isaiah 51:16 and 2 Corinthians 11:2.) To follow Christ all the way, we must be willing to be drawn away from even that which has nourished us–whatever it may have been, including a mother church.
The greatest hindrance to spiritual growth, he noted, has come from spiritual leaders. Nevertheless, Christ must do the drawing away as indicated in Hosea 11:4 and Jeremiah 31:3.
It was further noted during QT/QT that even the disciples left John the Baptist to follow Jesus for a higher experience.
For Health’s Sake…
For instance, fatigue is presented when the body’s cells aren’t getting the glucose, which (when combined with oxygen) provides energy.
Frequent urination indicates that the body is trying to eliminate excessive sugar left in the blood that couldn’t gain access into the cell.
Excessive thirst is presented when the body is needing water to flush the sugar out of the kidneys.
In a progressed state, peripheral neuropathy happens because the body (which is fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14) will access water from the body farthest away from the heart. With the water, the minerals are also taken from the extremities.
With great dehydration comes diabetic ketoacidosis, meaning the body is in a critical state.
Pastor Flemons told of a guest whose blood sugar dropped 10 points almost immediately after simply and dramatically increasing her water intake.
Tomorrow, Pastor Flemons will present info to prevent and cure diabetes.
