Words of Encouragement

Psalm 71:3  Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: Thou hast given commandment to save me; For thou art my rock and my fortress.

Jeremiah 33:9  And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I shall do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

For Heaven’s Sake…

John 8:31-32  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Truth sets believers free. That means disciples of Christ must know the truth. That also means that it cannot be too hard to understand.

“The Bible isn’t complicated,” says Pastor Flemons. “People have made the Bible complicated with various errors.” The Pharisees shrouded the Bible in mystery. They said only the rabbis understood it. Then during the Dark Ages, the few Bibles that were in print were chained and accessible only to priests. During these times traditions were taught in the place of Bible truths and elevated above Bible truths to control the masses. Services would be conducted in a language unfamiliar to them: Latin, for instance.

Then Jesus spoke in parables to confuse those in the audience who were seeking to kill Him. And Jesus needed to stay alive until the work for which He came was finished. For believers, those who love truth, Jesus spoke plainly.

Mark 4:9-11  And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.

The honest seeker of truth will find in Scripture its own prophetic key that reveals truth. It unlocks the understanding. It makes the Bible an incredibly clear book with amazing detail.

For instance, Pastor Flemons showed how in Jeremiah 6:2, we learn that a woman in prophecy represents a church. A delicate and comely woman represents the true church of God: Zion. A harlot or whorish woman represents the false church, as in Revelation 17:5. Daniel 7:17 and 24 reveal that beasts and horns represent kingdoms or nations or kings. Revelation 17:15 tells us that waters represent “peoples and multitudes, and nations and tongues.” Stars can represent angels, who are messengers, according to Revelation 1:20.

Once you understand the key, you can realize that most of Bible prophetic truths can now be confirmed by world history. Once you understand the key and are well studied, you can understand current events as they happen and how they affect you personally today and into the future. When approaching the Bible, pray first. Ask for understanding. Ask for guidance. Ask for a pure heart. Be willing to obey what you learn. As you obey with a pure heart, more will be opened unto you.

The Bible was indeed shrouded in a level of mystery so that those in power who walked away from Him wouldn’t be able to see and understand certain things and then hide them from the honest seeker of truth. The Bible indeed has both simplicity and mystery all in the same book. It is simple for honest seekers of truth. It is still a mystery to all others. It is a masterful plan of God to preserve truth, says Pastor Flemons.

For Health’s Sake…

Understanding the body is not hard. Pastor Flemons, says, “Mankind has just made it hard.” Diseases are given Latin terms. Myocardial infarction is simply a heart attack. As a result, the masses are confused about what is happening to their own bodies. They are confused about how to get well. They are confused about how to stay well. The Bible makes it clear and simple.

“The life of the flesh is in the blood,” according to Leviticus 17:11. “A sound heart is the life of the flesh,” according to Proverbs 14:30. “Good blood and its proper circulation: that’s how you stay healthy,” says Pastor Flemons. It is as simple as that. That is biblical wellness.

When the blood is kept clean and pure, disease cannot ravage the body. Disease is simply the body’s effort to rid itself of toxins. Latin-based medical education doesn’t teach the simplicity of regaining health.

When you are sick, there are four simple things you should do:

  1. 1. Ascertain the cause.
  2. 2. Change unhealthful conditions.
  3. 3. Correct wrong habits.
  4. 4. Assist nature (the body) in its efforts to expel toxins and reestablish balance in the system.

The heart and all the organs depend upon good blood and proper circulation. Purify your blood. Give it the nutrients that it needs. Keep the circulation of that blood flowing well. You do that through lifestyle.

You cannot have good blood, if you

  • *eat toxic foods and drink toxic liquids,
  • *never exercise,
  • *snack between meals,
  • *drink with your meals, or
  • *sit around, recline, or go to bed on a full stomach.

The body is fearfully and wonderfully made. Much about it remains a mystery to us. Still, enough has been revealed for us to be healthy. And while we will not understand everything about it, we will probably be learning about the mysteries of the body for an eternity, says Pastor Flemons.

Biblical wellness is essential. It is God’s will that we prosper and be in health. It is His will that we are operating at our optimum, both spiritually and physically. The Spirit of God dwells within those who believe and obey. For the body is the temple of God. And “the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” (Read 3 John 2; John 14:17; and 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.)
