Worship: For Heaven’s Sake “God spoke His law from Sinai on the fiftieth day from the ‘morrow after’ Israel ate the first Passover, Lev. 23:15,16, when they were delivered from Egypt. The day was then named Pentecost, a word meaning fiftieth. This first Pentecost was the birthday of the Hebrew church.”
Similarly, Pastor Flemons in marking his 51st birthday, said that he wants to honor God more now than in his first fifty years. He says, “God gave wonderful principles by which we can live.” He read Acts 2, that describes the day of Pentecost in which God’s people were filled with the Spirit. He also read Exodus 31:3, and shared his personal prayer, which is to be “filled” “with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” Let’s give our minds to God, he says, that we may be in harmony with His will for our lives. Also “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).

Worship: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, mentioned how it is that often on one’s birthday, too much cake gets eaten during the course of too much celebration. The excess celebration then leads to some kind of suffering soon afterward.
His message was simple and to the point, “Don’t eat too much cake!” In other words, practice self-control. Don’t eat anything that is harmful. And only eat in moderation those things that are healthy. Being that it was his birthday, Pastor Flemons determined to practice what he preaches.

Sharing Time The men of TOR Worship and Wellness Broadcast listening family stepped up in full to honor Pastor Flemons on his 51st birthday with songs, words of encouragement, and even a proclamation: from the eldest (Bro. Chester), who went first, to the youngest (Sis. Audrey’s grandson Alex), who closed out the broadcast with a special prayer for the pastor.
Sis. Audrey closed with a text received from Sis. Kaven, who sends her “grateful thanks to the TOR family for their prayers, love and support during [her] father’s illness and recent passing.” She says, “Our Heavenly Father is Gentle, Merciful, and the Best Comforter for the grieving heart. Blessings!”
Special Prayer Please include in your prayers today listener 5933, who came on to sing a song and pray in the pastor’s honor. Pastor Flemons has requested that we pray to God that he be filled with the Spirit in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.
