Worship: Competition in Education / Wellness: Cancer Deaths from Constipation and Acidosis

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “True education is synonymous with redemption,” says Pastor Flemons. Satan, he says, “uses false education to keep us from being saved.” He explained.

The Bible says, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory.” Instead, everyone should consider that the other is better than oneself. Read Philippians 2:3.

The Seventh-day Adventist educational system was to be based on the Bible and was not to encourage competition in any thing. So that we may more clearly understand what this means, Pastor Flemons read from a chapter entitled “Emulation, Honors and Prizes” in the book Studies in Christian Education, by E. A. Sutherland. “Emulation is competition.” And if we  don’t overcome it, we will not be saved, says Pastor Flemons. Read Galatians 5:19-21.

Jesuits instituted the competition that we are all familiar with in educational and various other pursuits, says Pastor Flemons. He shared a brief section of the Studies in Christian Education that referred to the Oberlin College policy to never announce the scholastic standing of their students. They endeavored to prevent the vicious ambition and competition so common everywhere now. Nevertheless, the Bible shows us that competition predates the Jesuit Papal practice. It was practiced in Babylon. Read Daniel 1:3-6.

“The Jesuit Papal practice, so necessary to the success of their system of education,” holds this to be true: “Nothing will be held more honorable than to outstrip a fellow student and nothing more dishonorable than to be outstripped. Prizes will be distributed to the best pupils with the greatest possible solemnity.”

[For additional details, please read in full “Emulation, Honors and Prizes” in the book Studies in Christian Education, by E. A. Sutherland., pp 36-38. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 289, “The Savior Is Waiting.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says deaths from cancer can occur because of constipation and acidosis. Pastor Flemons discussed in detail his successful ministry to a person with late stage pancreatic cancer with constipation. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to treat. All he did, he says, was to administer large doses of colon cleansing herbs and probiotics. As a result, the man is eliminating very well and feels like getting up and exercising!

Where there was no expectation for survival, now there is hope. Family had come in from as far away as Hawaii to say their last words. Hospice care was being administered, presumably for his final days. But now, where sorrow and tears were expected, there can be praise, thanksgiving, and joy for at least one Texas family.

(Please listen to the recording to hear the full testimony and learn how to share hope.)

Words of Encouragement

Jeremiah 30:7  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

Isaiah 25:4  For thou has been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

For Heaven’s Sake…

“The history of the early church testified to the fulfillment of the Saviour’s words. The powers of earth and hell arrayed themselves against Christ in the person of His followers. Paganism foresaw that should the gospel triumph, her temples and altars would be swept away; therefore she summoned her forces to destroy Christianity. The fires of persecution were kindled. Christians were stripped of their possessions and driven from their homes. They ‘endured a great fight of afflictions.’ Hebrews 10:32. They ‘had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment.’ Hebrews 11:36. Great numbers sealed their testimony with their blood. Noble and slave, rich and poor, learned and ignorant, were alike slain without mercy. {GC 39.2}

 “These persecutions, beginning under Nero about the time of the martyrdom of Paul, continued with greater or less fury for centuries. Christians were falsely accused of the most dreadful crimes and declared to be the cause of great calamities—famine, pestilence, and earthquake. As they became the objects of popular hatred and suspicion, informers stood ready, for the sake of gain, to betray the innocent. They were condemned as rebels against the empire, as foes of religion, and pests to society. Great numbers were thrown to wild beasts or burned alive in the amphitheaters. Some were crucified; others were covered with the skins of wild animals and thrust into the arena to be torn by dogs. Their punishment was often made the chief entertainment at public fetes. Vast multitudes assembled to enjoy the sight and greeted their dying agonies with laughter and applause. {GC 40.1}

“Wherever they sought refuge, the followers of Christ were hunted like beasts of prey. They were forced to seek concealment in desolate and solitary places. ‘Destitute, afflicted, tormented; (of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.’ Verses 37, 38. The catacombs afforded shelter for thousands. Beneath the hills outside the city of Rome, long galleries had been tunneled through earth and rock; the dark and intricate network of passages extended for miles beyond the city walls. In these underground retreats the followers of Christ buried their dead; and here also, when suspected and proscribed, they found a home. When the Life-giver shall awaken those who have fought the good fight, many a martyr for Christ’s sake will come forth from those gloomy caverns. {GC 40.2}

“Like God’s servants of old, many were ‘tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.’ Verse 35. These called to mind the words of their Master, that when persecuted for Christ’s sake, they were to be exceeding glad, for great would be their reward in heaven; for so the prophets had been persecuted before them. They rejoiced that they were accounted worthy to suffer for the truth, and songs of triumph ascended from the midst of crackling flames. Looking upward by faith, they saw Christ and angels leaning over the battlements of heaven, gazing upon them with the deepest interest and regarding their steadfastness with approval. A voice came down to them from the throne of God: ‘Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.’ Revelation 2:10{GC 41.2}

(This study is based on chapter 2, “Persecution in the First Centuries,” in the book The Great Controversy (GC), by Ellen G. White.)

For Health’s Sake…

Cucumber juice, beet juice, and carrot juice: each naturally performs at least one thing that medications for hypertension are designed to do to normalize blood pressure. Medications for hypertension tend to be an ace inhibitor, a beta blocker, a calcium channel blocker, and/or a diuretic. They are easy to remember, when you think of them as the ABC&D for hypertension.

Cucumber juice is a diuretic. Beet juice has the ABC&D for hypertension. It is best taken in sips and slowly consumed over at least a 45-minute period, beginning first thing in the morning. Carrot juice has a wide spectrum of nutrients; but it is an excellent source of potassium, which balances out sodium. Because of the level of sweetness, however, diabetics are cautioned against carrot and beet juices.

Two additional points with regard to juicing are these: (1) You can make any green juice palatable by adding fresh lemon juice, a Granny Smith apple, and fresh ginger. (2) The drier the pulp after juicing, the better the juicer. According to Pastor Flemons, there is no better juicer than the Super Angel Juicer, which sells for about $1,000. You may be interested in listening to the recording to hear his brief comparisons and other pointers about juicers.

One final point to remember is this: If you eat right and live right, says Pastor Flemons, you are going to have a good or normal blood pressure.
