Worship: A Surprising Reason God Saves Us / Wellness: Essiac Tea

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  It is not surprising that God saves us because He loves us, says Pastor Flemons. Probably the most famous of all Bible texts tells us that. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Still, “God is on trial,” says Pastor Flemons. And God explains it best in Ezekiel 36:21-28:

“But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

God saves us for His own name’s sake and honor.

“When we come to him confessing our unworthiness and sin, He has pledged Himself to give heed to our cry. The honor of His throne is staked for the fulfillment of His word unto us.” {COL 148.1}

[For additional details, please read Romans 5:8; Revelation 14:7; Ezekiel 36: 21-27; Christ’s Object LessonsCOL 148.1. And listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 246, “Worthy, Worthy Is the Lamb.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says essiac tea, originated by Renee Cassie, is effective against cancer. He knows it to be true, he says, because he has used it to help others. It is used with the TOR’s canswer2tea. Still, he read portion of an article published on healthfreedom.info, which detailed how essiac tea affects cancer. In part he read this:

“It was discovered that one of the most dramatic effects of taking this remedy was its affinity for drawing all the cancer cells which had spread back to the original site at which point the tumor would first harden, then later it would soften, until it vanished altogether or more realistically, the tumor would decrease in size to where it could then be surgically removed with minimal complications.”

Since cancer has a fungal core, says Pastor Flemons, as it dies the tumor can actually become enlarged first. He says also that essiac tea is carried by TORWM. Although it is not shown yet on the products page, it can be ordered by phone: 855-867-4600.

Sharing Time  Sis. Boyce gave her testimony of using natural means to lower a very high blood pressure reading to a normal reading. Pastor Flemons responded to a question about antediluvians and a question about Christ’s followers. One listener also shared a testimony about holding a Bible study with coworkers. Sis. Audrey also gave a testimony.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today listener 7178, who made no special request. Pray for Sis. Boyce’s continued health improvements through natural means. Also pray for the family of Roscoe Howard, Jr., who has passed. The family, I understand, is asking only for phone calls. They are desiring no personal visits at this time. Thank you.

Words of Encouragement

2 Corinthians 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.  (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 30.)

Philippians 2:12, 13  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, . . . work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 26.)

Worship: Significance of the Golden Altar / Wellness: 7 Benefits of Cherries

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The golden altar was one of the three pieces of furniture in the Holy Place. It was situated nearest the veil that hung just in front of the Mercy Seat in the Most Holy Place. The golden altar, made of shittim wood and overlaid with gold, signified the prayers of the saints “covered and united with Divinity.” It represents the key that connects us to God. It was foursquare, signifying the importance of “coming correct” to God, says Pastor Flemons. Like the brazen altar in the courtyard, the altar of incense was not only foursquare but also had four horns, which pointed to Christ and signified “strength, power, victory, and honor.” It was crowned with a golden crown, representing not only the power but the reward that comes to the petitioner who continues “instant in prayer” (Romans 12:12). As the brazen altar points to Christ’s sacrifice on earth for us, the golden altar points to Christ’s intercession for us in Heaven.

[For additional details, please read Exodus 30:1-10; and “The Golden Altar and Its Significance” in The Path to the Throne of God: The Sanctuary, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 128 original; PTG 177 new edition; PTG 97 online. Also listen to the recording to hear more commentary of Pastor Flemons and to hear him sing Hymn 265, “Breathe on Me Breath of God.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that cherries are power-packed with nutrients that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Cherries protect against diabetes, because of their low-glycemic content. Cherries promote healthy sleep, because of their melatonin content. In fact, according to the health.com article that inspired today’s talk, “One study in men and women with insomnia found that . . .eight ounces of tart cherry juice in the morning and again one to two hours before bed increased sleep time by an hour and 24 minutes.” Cherries have also been found to provide arthritis relief, lower the risk of gout attacks, lower total cholesterol levels, and help reduce post-exercise pain, by protecting against cellular wear and tear from exercise and supporting muscle recovery. (For further details, please listen to the recording and read the health.com article that formed the basis of today’s talk.)

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today call-in listener 1709, who asked that we pray for her brother to have a safe return to Barbados on the 21st, that her vision will return, and that God will bless her to be a blessing to others, including the TOR ministry.

Pray also for all grieving families (especially spouses) and for those fighting for their lives and against depression. Also pray for those areas at risk of being destroyed by hurricanes and tornadoes and extreme heat.

Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you!
