Worship: For Heaven’s Sake The story in Luke 16:19-31 is really a parable of the rich man and Lazarus to teach the eternal consequences of our choices in this life. But it is erroneously used to teach that man goes directly to heaven or to hell fire immediately upon death, says Pastor Shelem Flemons. The parable also teaches that if a man does not heed the law and prophets in the Word of God as it is, they won’t do differently even though one were raised from the dead. That fact is proven in John 11, when Jesus indeed raised Lazarus from the dead. Then for fear of losing their positions and influence with the masses, the religious leaders determined to kill Jesus and, eventually, Lazarus as well (John 12:10,11).
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Continuing with the theme of making right choices in this life, Pastor Flemons taught the value of making healthy choices for healthy living. He shared his own experiences of living healthy, even while traveling long distances for extended periods.
QT/QT Using the REFRESHING way acronym, listeners were engaged to consider and share how we all might plan to live healthy.
