Worship: For Heaven’s Sake You may have heard it said, “By beholding we become changed.” It is true. That statement is likely based on the Bible verse found in 2 Corinthians 3:18, which essentially says if we behold God’s glory, we will be changed into that same image by the power of the Holy Spirit. The children’s lyric, “Oh be careful little eyes what you see,” is a warning to guard the avenues of our soul. With each stanza, a different portal to the brain is identified. This is important, because guarding the avenues of thought protects our destiny. (Read more below.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Epilepsy is the body’s way of redistributing electricity throughout the body, so that the electricity isn’t concentrated in the brain. Epilepsy is the body’s way of saving the brain from being fried. A seizure acts as a circuit breaker for the body, says Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy. For Heaven’s Sake…
Thoughts produce actions. Actions produce habits. Habits develop character. Character determines destiny. It all begins in the mind, says Pastor Flemons.
Too often our thoughts are allowed to freely dwell on topics that are the opposite of GOD’s character, as described in Exodus 34:6 and 7. There we learn that GOD is merciful; gracious; longsuffering; abundant in goodness and truth; keeping mercy for thousands; forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin. But by no means will He clear those who choose to remain comfortable enough in sin that they never truly repent.
To aim our destiny heavenward, we must direct our thoughts toward the things of GOD. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). Daily, let the request of Moses to God be our prayer: LORD, show me Thy glory. GOD then said that He would make all His goodness to pass before Moses and proclaim His name. (Read Exodus 33:18 and 19.) By this we understand that God’s glory, goodness (or character) and name are synonymous.
Make a list of the movies, shows, and any kind of programming you spend time watching or music you’re listening to. Are they focused on the character of GOD or death? What about our sense of smell, taste and touch? They too can cause us to dwell on things (like alcohol and fornication) that tend toward death. Paul warns us:
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Pastor Flemons left us with this thought: “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Proverbs 16:3).
For Health’s Sake…
Epilepsy is not always a result of a brain injury. It can be the result of a chemical imbalance. A high concentration of sodium in the body can play a significant role in epileptic seizures. As described by Pastor Flemons during this morning’s broadcast, sodium is a primary carrier of electricity and can become concentrated in the body because of diet, particularly the consumption of meats and other products high in sodium, plus a severe lack of water intake. The arms and legs essentially become the grounding for the quick redistribution of electricity for the body. God made it so; for we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14.)
The answer for the epileptic is in an alkaline diet, juicing, sufficient hydration, and the use of calming herbs, like lady’s slipper, lobelia, hops, skullcap, valerian, and peppermint. Lady’s slipper is excellent but is very difficult to find. Pastor Flemons recommends ordering it from Warner Herbs. Although lobelia also has wonderful calming properties, use it sparingly (no more than 5 drops NOT dropperfuls), as it can cause vomiting. He also recommends these herbs before the controversial medical marijuana, which he discussed in detail.
