Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Can you imagine God predestinating anyone to be lost? A lot of people actually believe that God predestined certain people to be lost and certain people to be saved. The Bible is clear. “Everybody is predestined to be saved,” says Pastor Flemons. (Read more below.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Drugs treat symptoms. They do not heal. If they did, you wouldn’t need to be on them for a lifetime. Jeremiah 46:11 says, “in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.” Today Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, shared an interview of a woman determined to take no more drugs after 30 years of being on 30 prescriptions. For Heaven’s Sake…
Titus 2:11 reads, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” In fact, probably the most familiar Bible verse of all time clearly says, “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We all, even the children, know that to be John 3:16. That verse alone should prevent any such belief otherwise.
To believe otherwise is a false accusation against God. Speaking of false accusations, Pastor Flemons encouraged those who have problems handling being falsely accused to read about how Jesus handled false accusations, particularly in Pilate’s judgment hall. The account is in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). However, he recommends reading “In Pilate’s Judgment Hall,” a chapter in the book The Desire of Ages, by Ellen G. White, accessible here: http://www.whiteestate.org/books/da/da77.html. The way we handle false accusations may point someone else to God, or not. The way Stephen handled being falsely accused provided a firsthand example for the Apostle Paul. (Read Acts 6:8- 7:60.)
Pastor Flemons also warned that we all be very careful about making or receiving accusations. The devil is called the accuser of the brethren in Revelation 12:10. We could find ourselves fighting against God. If God is for us, no one can be against us. (Read Romans 8:31.)
God doesn’t want anyone to be lost. He specifically came to save us all. In fact, He wants to glorify us all. The Bible confirms in 1 Timothy 2:4 and 6 that God would “have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” and that Jesus “gave himself a ransom for all.”
It’s just that God knows the end from the beginning. God knows us so intimately that Jesus said the very hairs of our heads are numbered. Both Matthew and Luke testify hearing Jesus say that. (Read Matthew 10:30 and Luke 12:7.) That means also that He knows who will choose to be saved and who will choose rather to enjoy the pleasures of sin at any cost.
But to those who choose to be saved, know and receive this from Romans 8:
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If we simply ask Him to give us whatever it takes to have this kind of relationship with Him, we can be assured it is ours. Remember verse 32: “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
For Health’s Sake…
She had been on 30 medications for more than 30 years for PTSD, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Actually, she was taking about 60 pills a day. She wanted deliverance. She came to Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministry for help.
By the time she reached the wellness retreat, she had already quit 15 of her meds. The day she arrived, she chose to take no more. And she continues doing well without them. At the retreat, she drank veggie juices, herb teas, ate a plant-based diet, drank a lot of water, got to bed on time, did hydrotherapy treatments for her shakiness, exercised in fresh air, and participated in Bible study. She says, “It was a pleasure.” But she also said she wouldn’t tell anyone to stop taking any medications on their own. She insists however that with God’s help, you can do it.
Pastor Flemons contends that if your medicine will make a well person sick, how can it make a sick person well! However, he recommends getting educated first about living a totally healthy lifestyle that includes natural remedies when required. A totally healthy lifestyle is biblical health. Times of Refreshing spells biblical health R-E-F-R-E-S-H-I-N-G:
R – Rely on God.
E – Eat healthy.
F – Fresh air.
R – Rest.
E – Exercise.
S – Self-control.
H – H20. Drink water.
I – In the sun.
N – Never give up.
G – Give to others.
