Words of Encouragement

John 7:37-39  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

1 Peter 3:8-9  Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

For Heaven’s Sake…

1. You aren’t doing anything. When you do nothing, that is exactly what God will bless: nothing.

We have a mission to spread the gospel. The right arm of the gospel is the health message. You must meet the needs of the people first. The greatest need that they know they have is healing from their illnesses. This is a work that can be done by weaving it into whatever your normal work is: sharing with others how to be healthy.

Fear paralyzes us into doing nothing for the slightest excuse. Joshua 1:9 encourages us to be strong and courageous, trusting that God will be with us. “Do it, if God is in it,” says Pastor Flemons.

2. You are doing things your own way.

We must follow God’s principles in everything that we do, if we want to have God’s favor. God cannot bless us in sin. We can have skeletons in our closet, because our past sins are our skeletons. What we cannot have is secret sins: current sins that we are cherishing. Everything that we think, say or do must be in harmony with the will, the word, and the law of God, says Pastor Flemons.

Joshua lets us know that the word of God must govern our lives in every way. We tend to mess up when we follow our own counsel. We need to be more like Jesus, who only did the will of His Father in heaven.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

This is the only way to really prosper.

3. You give up too early.

If you know God is calling you to do what you are doing, and it doesn’t appear that all the money is flowing and all the help is coming, wait on the Lord, says Pastor Flemons. It will come. Search your heart to be sure that you are doing everything the way He wants you to. Then wait.

The story of Joseph is a wonderful example. He was imprisoned because of false accusations. It took patience, but Joseph went from prisoner to prime minister in a very short time, after a very long wait. Do it God’s way, and then wait on Him. We must simply obey Him and trust Him during the wait.

For Health’s Sake…

This is a wonderful site for the first-time sprouter who wants to eat healthy but must watch the budget very closely. The hardest part of sprouting is remembering to rinse the sprouts daily. You may need to be creative for help with that, but everything else is figured out for you. Just follow these simple directions:

1) Soak 1-2 T. of sprouting seeds for at least 8 hours in fresh, cool water in a wide mouth mason jar.

2) Drain and rinse the sprouts.

3) Repeat Step 2 for 3-5 days, until your sprouts are ready to eat.

Visit the link below to see how the sprouts should look over the 5-day period.
