Worship: “When the enemy comes in like a flood…” / Wellness: Man-Made Diseases

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Have you ever gotten too close to a lion? Even now, are you feeling uncomfortably close to your enemy? The Bible describes our enemy, Satan, as a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8). When you’re feeling too close to life-threatening trouble, here’s what can you do. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to stay healthy. It is so much easier to stay healthy than to get well. Keeping the immune system strong is the key barrier against disease. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement

Zephaniah 3:15  The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

Micah 7:7-8  Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

For Heaven’s Sake…

“You can do absolutely nothing!” says Pastor Flemons. You’ve gotten too close. You are completely helpless now. Only God can help you. That’s why God promised to do something about it.

Isaiah 59:19 (last part)  When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

The problem is often that we were not vigilant enough during the quiet times of relative safety. We are warned to remain sober and watchful, because our enemy, Satan, is as a roaring lion, roaming about seeking to “devour” whoever is vulnerable (1 Peter 5:8). Too often, would-be victims have wandered away from safety and have exposed themselves to temptations that could suddenly overwhelm them.

The thing to remember about Noah’s ark is that those who survived the worldwide flood were already in the ark when it was dry–before the first drop of rain ever descended. This graphic description of the flood, as told in the book Patriarchs and Prophets, is a startling example of the paralyzing fear of impending doom.

“As the violence of the storm increased, trees, buildings, rocks, and earth were hurled in every direction. The terror of man and beast was beyond description. Above the roar of the tempest was heard the wailing of a people that had despised the authority of God. Satan himself, who was compelled to remain in the midst of the warring elements, feared for his own existence. He had delighted to control so powerful a race, and desired them to live to practice their abominations and continue their rebellion against the Ruler of heaven. He now uttered imprecations against God, charging Him with injustice and cruelty. Many of the people, like Satan, blasphemed God, and had they been able, they would have torn Him from the throne of power. Others were frantic with fear, stretching their hands toward the ark and pleading for admittance. But their entreaties were in vain. Conscience was at last aroused to know that there is a God who ruleth in the heavens.” (PP 99.3)

When we are in the flood like that, says Pastor Flemons, “There is nothing humanly possible that could be done. There is no way to survive.” In such times, “we don’t have to try to do anything.”

The time to be saved is now–while there is still an opportunity.

For Health’s Sake…

Another barrier against disease is trusting God, rather than man. Blind trust in man, regardless of their expertise, can be deadly. There are too many examples of blind trust that resulted in death.

Unfortunately, there is a sad medical history of scientific research, involving man-made diseases. The author of Emerging Viruses and Vaccinations, Dr. Leonard Horowitz, a Harvard graduate, exposed the fact that HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) was made in a laboratory and shipped to Africa. Zambians, among many others, have testified of daily deaths from HIV. Interestingly, HIV destroys the immune system, the body’s central defense system. Once the immune system is destroyed, the body has no defense against any disease.

Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, says look for those who are following God’s plan before you venture to have any kind of confidence in doctors, whether they be MDs, PhDs or NDs. Remember the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. It’s actual name was “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male.” The research was based on the campus of Tuskegee University. The men, residents of Macon County, Alabama, were never told “of the debilitating and the life-threatening consequences” of the so-called treatments, nor “the impact on their wives, girlfriends, and children they may have conceived once involved in the research.” They weren’t even offered penicillin or the option to quit the study. (Visit this link for more details: http://www.tuskegee.edu/about_us/centers_of_excellence/bioethics_center/about_the_usphs_syphilis_study.aspx.)

Similarly, the White Coat Study, referred to by Pastor Flemons, involved men who trusted the government. This time, it was the military: The US Army. Officially known as Operation White Coat, the top secret study involved “a group of American soldiers — conscientious objectors — who volunteered to expose themselves to deadly viruses and bacteria, rather than go to war.” Although a 2003 PBS episode features glowing remarks from participants who say they would do it again, that is not the case with at least one of those interviewed for the PBS special and the one bitter participant Pastor Flemons personally knew. (For more details, visit this link: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/2003/10/24/october-24-2003-operation-whitecoat/15055/.)

These are the last days, and we have been warned about these times, says Pastor Flemons:

2 Timothy 3:1 -5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
