Words of Encouragement

Exodus 14:14  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

2 Samuel 22:31  As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Acts 17:31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Sunday, the first day of the week, is the day all the world acknowledges that Jesus was raised from the dead. This same Sunday is the assurance that God will, through Jesus, judge the world. This same Jesus will represent us in the judgment, and He will be our Judge. Our assurance of that fact is that Jesus was raised from the dead.

Sunday is not God’s special day of worship for Christians, as many suppose. It’s spiritual significance was not to eclipse the fourth commandment. Thankfully, we don’t have to take our chances on suppositions when it comes to the will of God. The Bible is clear. Although we are to worship God every day (Psalm 55:17), He has instituted a special day when believers are to worship Him in spirit and truth together in the sanctuary. That day is the holy Sabbath of the Lord. It is the LORD’s day. From Friday evening to Saturday evening, the Sabbath of the Lord is to be observed (for example, Lev 23:32). It is the only day that is holy unto the LORD (Genesis 2:3). It is a sign between Him and His people that He is our God. (Read Ezekiel 20:12, 20.)

The judgment secures heaven for those who belong to God. Pastor Flemons says, “For that to happen, there must be a judgment. The spiritual significance of Sunday is that God raised Jesus on a beautiful Sunday morning to give assurance to all men that He would secure heaven by an investigative judgment for everybody who claims to want to be there.”

He further states, “The truth is the truth, whether you know it or not. The truth is the truth, whether you believe it or not.”

The fourth commandment of the Lord is this:

Exodus 20:8-11  Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do alll thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

For Health’s Sake…

Some believe only in juice fasting. They say that it’s dangerous to do a water-only fast. Some others believe that if you do a juice fast, you really aren’t fasting at all. “There are times for both,” says Pastor Flemons, “and they have their own benefits.”

Although Pastor Flemons does not recommend doing a water-only fast outside of supervision, he says that you can add years to your life by doing it. But first you must know the limitations of your own body.

Using an informative website on juicing for the day’s topic on juice fasting, Pastor Flemons was quick to say that this doesn’t mean that he endorses everything on the site. It simply means that he doesn’t believe in reinventing the wheel.

Juicing-for-health.com/benefits-of-juice.html lists the following benefits of juicing:

  1. 1. The digestive system is given a well-deserved rest.

2. You experience increased and improved mental clarity.

3. You experience enhanced emotional, physical and spiritual sensitivity.

4. You experience rapid and safe weight loss.

5. You experience increased energy level and vitality.

6. You experience healing of chronic diseases caused by years of poor diet and lifestyle.

7. You experience reduced nasal stuffiness and congestion.

8. You will have a clearer/glowing complexion.

9. You will have reduced water retention.

Although many other benefits of juice fasting can be listed, Pastor Flemons concentrated and commented on those listed here and will focus on water fasting in the next wellness segment.
