Words of Encouragement
Psalm 34:22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

For Heaven’s Sake…
“For we know that the law of God is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin,” said Paul, according to Romans 7:14.
“Therefore,” says Pastor Flemons, “we must have the Spirit to keep the law.”
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God,” said Paul in Romans 8:14. Verse 13 clarifies that as we live through the Spirit, we will mortify or eliminate the deeds of the body. In effect, we become new creatures. We are no longer “ourselves.”
John 3:5-6 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Like the wind that blows, so is the Holy Spirit of God. We cannot see Him, but we can see the evidence of His abiding within us. Pastor Flemons says, “People will see the results when the Holy Spirit is moving on your heart.”
For Health’s Sake…
An old commercial simply said, “Here’s your brain on drugs.” We can say, “Here’s your brain on salt.” Seizures can be the result of too much salt and too little water in the brain.
Seizures are blessings from God. God allows the brain to redistribute electricity to the body’s extremities to keep the brain from frying.
“Disease,” Pastor Flemons reminded us, “is the body’s effort to bring things back into balance.” When there is the danger of too much electricity traveling through the brain, the body redistributes the electricity to the body’s extremities: the arms and the legs. Pastor Flemons described a demonstration of the ability of salt to conduct electricity.
He set two wires into a glass of distilled water. The two wires were each connected to a junction box with a light bulb that is plugged into the wall. The two wires were placed apart from each other in the glass of water. The more salt added to the glass of water, the greater the light bulb burned at the other end. The more water added, the lesser the light emitted from the bulb. There’s a lesson in this for those suffering with seizures that are a result of dietary abuse.
Drink more water. Reduce salt consumption. A lot of sodium is hidden in dairy products, says Pastor Flemons. His recommendation is this: Use calming herbs in teas, like chammomile, lobelia or peppermint. Lobelia must be used sparingly, however, as it is an emetic. It can induce vomiting when more than 5 – 7 drops are used. Begin with only 2 – 3 drops for safety, until you know how much your body can tolerate.
Lady’s slipper is an antiseizure herb. But it is difficult to find. Pastor Flemons recommends purchasing it online from Warner’s Herbs.
