Words of Encouragement

Proverbs 3:5-7,4  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. So shall thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Genesis 2:3  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Would you be overcome by appetite or some other desire and choose to a forbidden, even a deadly diet like Adam and Eve?

Would you allow jealousy to push you into killing your sibling or some other person, like Cain? Or would you be obedient unto death like Abel?

Would you have gotten on the boat with Noah? Or would you have been politically correct, refused to join Noah, and stayed with the crowd that derided Noah until the flood came?

Would you have joined in the building of the Tower of Babel in resentment toward God for having sent a flood that destroyed the world?

Would you have chosen to fulfill your lust for a desirable woman (or man) and conspire to kill her (or his) spouse, like David did, just to cover your tracks?

Would you have chosen to deny that you knew Jesus, while surrounded by a crowd of anti-Christians, like Peter? And upon acknowledging your sin, would you weep bitterly until you truly repented and gained the courage to stand for Jesus, like Peter did?

Would you have conspired against Jesus (the Word) with the religious leaders, like Judas, and sold Him out for money or personal gain? And upon acknowledging your sin, would you hate yourself enough for doing it that you’d rather commit suicide than trust in the blood of Jesus to forgive your sin and cleanse you from unrighteousness?

Or would you be like Esther? Although she was a queen, she humbly and obediently submitted to the godly wisdom of her father-like cousin, Mordecai. She took courage in God and risked her very life to save God’s people.

If your life record were open to the world, what would it show?

All these made momentary decisions that have been open to the world (to billions of strangers) over thousands of years. They were simple human beings, like you and me. They could not have known that in 2016, we would be privy to the decisions they made in a moment: that those private moments would become so public.

Pastor Flemons encourages us to meditate on these texts and be determined to be faithful unto death. Determine to rather die than sin.

Revelation 2:10  Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Take courage from the life of Esther. Mordecai appealed to Esther. Esther’s response was swift and courageous.

Esther 4:14-16  For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer, Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

For Health’s Sake…

When you fry foods that contain any protein, as most fried foods do to some degree, the fat (or grease) molecule engulfs the protein molecule. As such, it is not begun to be digested in the mouth, as are other elements. It is not digested in the stomach, as protein normally is. It is in the intestines that carbs and fats are digested to completion.

Only stomach acids, however digest protein. Therefore, undigested protein is left in the small intestines and enters the bloodstream. The body sees this undigested protein as toxin or poison: snake venom, which is pure protein. The immune system immediately responds. It goes in for the attack. And as an eventual result, the body is subject to autoimmune diseases, allergies, inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, and leaky gut syndrome, just to name a few.
