Worship: For Heaven’s Sake The Israelites, descendants of Jacob, appealed to Edom, the descendant of Esau, to allow passage through Edom to Canaan. Twice, he denied their requests, even though they were all descendants of Isaac and Abraham. The Israelites had to return and go around Edom along the Red Sea. They had brought the denial upon themselves. (Read more below.)

Eye on Prophecy
At birth, because of race or gender, civil rights take immediate effect in a republic. America was founded upon republicanism, where one person had the same rights as the majority. In a democracy, majority rules. Period. Where is the republic upon which America promised to stand? Revelation 13:11-18 has the answer. Prophecy is being quickly fulfilled.

Words of Encouragement
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Their journey around Edom resulted because of their complaining spirit, which made them slow to respond to God’s directives. The nations around lost their fear of them. Therefore, Edom refused Israel’s passage.
“It is important to believe God’s word and act upon it promptly, while His angels are waiting to work for us. Evil angels are ready to contest every step of advance. And when God’s providence bids His children go forward, when He is ready to do great things for them, Satan tempts them to displease the Lord by hesitation and delay; he seeks to kindle a spirit of strife or to arouse murmuring or unbelief, and thus deprive them of the blessings that God desired to bestow. God’s servants should be minutemen, ever ready to move as fast as His providence opens the way. And delay on their part gives time for Satan to work to defeat them.PP 423.1″
The journey around Edom brought them to Mount Hor, upon which Aaron died and was buried. Only Moses and Eleazar, Aaron’s son, were permitted to go upon Mount Hor to witness the death and burial of Aaron. Afterward Moses and Eleazar returned to the people without Aaron. Eleazar succeeded his father and was now clothed in the priestly garments that only Aaron had worn. Thirty days of mourning for Aaron were devoted throughout all of Israel.
Soon they were back to their murmurings. The journey was tough; but they focused so much on the hardness that they began to find fault even with the blessings. They were unaware of the unseen dangers from which God preserved their lives in the wilderness. Then because of their complaining spirit, God allowed the poisonous fiery serpents that infested the area to attack them. God’s protection had been removed, and many died.
When they humbled themselves and confessed their sin, God commanded Moses to make a serpent of brass and lift it up on a pole. The bitten victims were to look and be saved. Some in unbelief still died. They refused to look and live. Those who in faith looked were healed.
“The lifting up of the brazen serpent was to teach Israel an important lesson. They could not save themselves from the fatal effect of the poison in their wounds. God alone was able to heal them. Yet they were required to show their faith in the provision which He had made. They must look in order to live. It was their faith that was acceptable with God, and by looking upon the serpent their faith was shown. They knew that there was no virtue in the serpent itself, but it was a symbol of Christ; and the necessity of faith in His merits was thus presented to their minds. Heretofore many had brought their offerings to God, and had felt that in so doing they made ample atonement for their sins. They did not rely upon the Redeemer to come, of whom these offerings were only a type. The Lord would now teach them that their sacrifices, in themselves, had no more power or virtue than the serpent of brass, but were, like that, to lead their minds to Christ, the great sin offering.PP 430.3″
1 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
“‘As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,’ even so was the Son of man ‘lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.’ John 3:14, 15. All who have ever lived upon the earth have felt the deadly sting of ‘that old serpent, called the devil, and Satan.’ Revelation 12:9. The fatal effects of sin can be removed only by the provision that God has made. The Israelites saved their lives by looking upon the uplifted serpent. That look implied faith. They lived because they believed God’s word, and trusted in the means provided for their recovery. So the sinner may look to Christ, and live. He receives pardon through faith in the atoning sacrifice. Unlike the inert and lifeless symbol, Christ has power and virtue in Himself to heal the repenting sinner.PP 431.1
“When we trust God fully, when we rely upon the merits of Jesus as a sin-pardoning Saviour, we shall receive all the help that we can desire. Let none look to self, as though they had power to save themselves. Jesus died for us because we were helpless to do this. In Him is our hope, our justification, our righteousness. When we see our sinfulness we should not despond and fear that we have no Saviour, or that He has no thoughts of mercy toward us. At this very time He is inviting us to come to Him in our helplessness and be saved.PP 431.4″

For Health’s Sake…
Although the findings were located in Denmark, because of the standardization of practice, the study has significant meaning for everyone globally. They found that mammograms were imperfect in their discovery. Some died of the treatment for breast cancer, when they really only had a lesion in the breast, which would have eventually gone away without treatment.
More reliable tests exist for cancer, says Pastor Flemons. One is thermography. The other is the Navarro test.
Thermography shows heat in the body. Cancer is a rapid cell division disease that will show concentration of heat.
The Navarro test is not allowed in the United States. It is a test conducted in the Philippines and is based on a urine test. The approximate $55 test also shows rapid cell division per a range that confirms positively that breast cancer exists or not.
The article, “Mammograms Aren’t Perfect, American Cancer Society Top Doc Says,” is a January 17, NBC News release online available at this link: http://www.nbcnews.com/health/cancer/one-three-women-diagnosed-breast-cancer-wrongly-study-n704941.
