Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Throughout their wilderness journey, the children of Israel drank from water that gushed from a rock. The rock was Christ Jesus. From Him flowed spiritual and material blessings: then and now. (Read more below.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, leads to not only heart attacks but to strokes. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, helped listeners understand strokes. (Read more below.)

Special Prayer was offered for a live call-in listener: 3116. Please pray for her family and the health of one of her friends. Also pray that God will grant her wisdom in making decisions. Another listener (6252) has asked that we pray for the Bible studies that have begun in her home, as well as the renewal of her lease, so that she can continue the Bible studies in her home.

Eye on Prophecy
After giving a full technical definition of ecumenism, Pastor Flemons noted what is dangerous about it. Churches come together with a mission to focus only on those points of agreement to the suppression of those points of disagreement. All others are called dissenters. The problem or trap ensues when the list for unifying them, both what is important and what must be suppressed, contradicts the Bible.

Words of Encouragement
Haggai 2:4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work; for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Moses had been told to smite the rock. He did, and water flowed to quench the thirst of the people. Later, he was told to simply speak to the rock. Instead, Moses struck the rock twice. He had allowed himself to be overtaken in anger with the murmuring throng. Still, the water flowed. But the consequences were serious and teach us today the importance of doing exactly what God says and not deviating in any instance. “All disobedience,” says Pastor Flemons, “will keep you out of the kingdom.”
“The smitten rock was a figure of Christ, and through this symbol the most precious spiritual truths are taught. As the life-giving waters flowed from the smitten rock, so from Christ, “smitten of God,” “wounded for our transgressions,” “bruised for our iniquities” (Isaiah 53:4, 5), the stream of salvation flows for a lost race. As the rock had been once smitten, so Christ was to be “once offered to bear the sins of many.” Hebrews 9:28. Our Saviour was not to be sacrificed a second time; and it is only necessary for those who seek the blessings of His grace to ask in the name of Jesus, pouring forth the heart’s desire in penitential prayer. Such prayer will bring before the Lord of hosts the wounds of Jesus, and then will flow forth afresh the life-giving blood, symbolized by the flowing of the living water for Israel.PP 411.3
“The Lord was wroth with me for your sakes,” said Moses. The eyes of all Israel were upon Moses, and his sin cast a reflection upon God, who had chosen him as the leader of His people. The transgression was known to the whole congregation; and had it been passed by lightly, the impression would have been given that unbelief and impatience under great provocation might be excused in those in responsible positions. But when it was declared that because of that one sin Moses and Aaron were not to enter Canaan, the people knew that God is no respecter of persons, and that He will surely punish the transgressor.PP 420.1
“The history of Israel was to be placed on record for the instruction and warning of coming generations. Men of all future time must see the God of heaven as an impartial ruler, in no case justifying sin. But few realize the exceeding sinfulness of sin. Men flatter themselves that God is too good to punish the transgressor. But in the light of Bible history it is evident that God’s goodness and His love engage Him to deal with sin as an evil fatal to the peace and happiness of the universe.PP 420.2
“Not even the integrity and faithfulness of Moses could avert the retribution of his fault. God had forgiven the people greater transgressions, but He could not deal with sin in the leaders as in those who were led. He had honored Moses above every other man upon the earth. He had revealed to him His glory, and through him He had communicated His statutes to Israel. The fact that Moses had enjoyed so great light and knowledge made his sin more grievous. Past faithfulness will not atone for one wrong act. The greater the light and privileges granted to man, the greater is his responsibility, the more aggravated his failure, and the heavier his punishment.PP 420.3

For Health’s Sake…
The difference between heart attacks and strokes is location: heart and head. Eighty-five percent of strokes are due to a blood clot in the brain, says Pastor Flemons. The remaining 15 percent of strokes occur because of a hemorrhage (or leakage) in the brain and TIAs, also called mini strokes.
Stroke symptoms include a twisting of the mouth, an abnormality in the eye, and/or a paralyzed limb on one side. The symptoms are dependent upon the severity of the attack.
An immediate response that creates or resumes blood flow is critical for strokes. As with heart attacks, cayenne pepper tincture or powder, placed under the tongue, immediately increases blood circulation. Drinking a tea of cayenne pepper can prevent blood clotting.
Stress, refined foods, and the consumption of animal products should be avoided, as they increase cholesterol and the risk of strokes.
