Worship: Israel’s First King and President Trump / Wellness: Modern Medicine and the Tree of Knowledge

Please visit the website SaveLivesNow.org to see the property Times of Refreshing is claiming in faith as our new headquarters to save lives and train lifesavers. Then please ask God how you can be blessed to help.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  By beholding we all become changed. What we gaze upon eventually influences us to be accepting of it; and before we know it, we are speaking and even behaving in similar fashion. In some way, we are changed. So it was with Israel. They always had the King: the Sovereign God. But they wanted to be like the world. They wanted a king. So God gave them what they wanted. But they were warned. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  It was Satan who promoted eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to become “good.” That same mentality exists in the way we look at healing, says Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement

Romans 8:33-34  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, ye rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Proverbs 15:1  A soft answer turneth away wrath: But grievous words stir up anger.

For Heaven’s Sake…

1 Samuel 8:10-20  And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. 11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. 18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day. 19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; 20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

Saul, the Benjamite, was chosen as king. Samuel, who had been Israel’s judge, prophet and priest, anointed Saul as king. And the Spirit of God fell upon Saul that day. When Saul was publicly announced as king, trouble began. Immediately, there was dissension from the very tribes that had been most urgent in demanding a king. The tribes of Judah and Ephraim were larger and more powerful than all the other tribes. They felt slighted by God’s choice of king for Israel. Jealousy, envy, pride, and ambition clashed and ended in great disappointment and discontent. It wasn’t until Saul led in their first battle and brought a signal victory that all the people greeted him as their king. The problem was that they attributed the victory to Saul rather than to God. But because of the Spirit of God upon Saul, the glory was given to God.

Not since these times had a nation’s constitution honored God, until America. America gave back the power to God and to His people in establishing a republic with civil and religious freedoms–a nation under God. The US Constitution was a near-perfect document says Pastor Flemons, and God blessed America. But God does not guarantee blessings for unfaithfulness and sin. God’s law must be honored and obeyed. A test for America is coming. Will America honor God’s law or man’s law? Worship is the issue. The true Sabbath is the test. Will God be your King?

(This study is based on 1 Samuel 8 to 12 and chapter 59, “The First King of Israel,” in Patriarchs and Prophets (PP), by Ellen G. White, available at this link: http://www.whiteestate.org/books/pp/pp.asp.)

For Health’s Sake…

“Modern medicine is not all bad,” says Pastor Flemons, “but it is not all good.” People tend to believe that if they have to have some bad to get to the good, so be it. “That is the devil’s plan,” says Pastor Flemons. “How we get there is important.”

“The treatment of chronic diseases with toxic medication is not God’s plan. … How can something that makes a well man sick, make a sick man well?” he says.

As disease is borne and thrives in a toxic environment due to improper diet and lifestyle, diet and lifestyle must be the way back to a state of health and healing. As Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Eat a plant-based diet, the diet of the Bible. Eat nuts, grains, fruits, and vegetables. And when necessary, use the herb for regaining health. Biblical wellness is the goal to be reached. Biblical wellness is the state to be retained. In that God is honored. For the body is the temple of God, and God dwells in no unclean thing. “The temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Corinthians 3:17 last part).

1 Corinthians 3:16  16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
