Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Through nature, through the sanctuary service, through the words of the prophets, through the mighty acts of God for His people, and the promises of the coming Savior, all the people were to learn about God. This was basic education. This was school for all believers. This was home school. But leaders and counselors needed to know the deep things of God. They attended the schools of the prophets. For Heaven’s Sake…
The schools of the prophets were founded by the prophet Samuel to train leaders and counselors to guard against national corruption, “to provide for the moral and spiritual welfare of the youth, and to promote the future prosperity of the nation.” To this end, “Samuel gathered companies of young men who were pious, intelligent, and studious. These were called the sons of the prophets. As they communed with God and studied His word and His works, wisdom from above was added to their natural endowments. The instructors were men not only well versed in divine truth, but those who had themselves enjoyed communion with God and had received the special endowment of His Spirit. They enjoyed the respect and confidence of the people, both for learning and piety.” PP 593.1
During Samuel’s time, only two of these schools existed: one at his home in Ramah and the other at Kirjath-jearim, where the ark was housed. Students studied the law of God, the life of Moses, and sacred history, music and poetry. A spirit of devotion was both cherished and taught.
Music only served a holy purpose. It was and is to lift the thoughts heavenward, to that which is only pure, noble and elevating. And singing, “as a part of religious service, is as much an act of worship as is prayer.”
“The true object of education is to restore the image of God in the soul. In the beginning God created man in His own likeness. He endowed him with noble qualities. His mind was well balanced, and all the powers of his being were harmonious. But the Fall and its effects have perverted these gifts. Sin has marred and well-nigh obliterated the image of God in man. It was to restore this that the plan of salvation was devised, and a life of probation was granted to man. To bring him back to the perfection in which he was first created is the great object of life–the object that underlies every other. It is the work of parents and teachers, in the education of the youth, to co-operate with the divine purpose; and in so doing they are ‘laborers together with God.’ 1 Corinthians 3:9. PP 595.2”
“The teaching of the Bible has a vital bearing upon man’s prosperity in all the relations of this life. … There is no position in life, no phase of human experience, for which the teaching of the Bible is not an essential preparation. Studied and obeyed, the word of God would give to the world men of stronger and more active intellect than will the closest application to all the subjects that human philosophy embraces. It would give men of strength and solidity of character, of keen perception and sound judgment–men who would be an honor to God and a blessing to the world. PP 599.1”

For Health’s Sake…
The article states, “Experts are most concerned about the diseases for which no vaccine or treatment is currently available. ‘We don’t want to have to resort to spraying potentially harmful pesticides over large swarths of land to kill mosquitos, or quarantining people who enter the country from certain parts of the world, or exposing our children to vaccines that haven’t been tested thoroughly,’ Bernstein says.” Dr. Aaron Bernstein is the associate director of the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health Center for Health and the Global Environment.
Infectious mosquito-borne diseases have health experts particularly worried. These include malaria, Zika, dengue, Lyme and eastern equine encephalitis. There was a time mosquitoes were a menace in Belzoni, Mississippi, the self-proclaimed Catfish Capitol of the World. The mosquitoes were attracted to the catfish ponds. Millions were spent on the mosquito problem and how to get rid of them, when the simple solution would have been to remove the source of their attraction: the catfish ponds.
Similarly, the focus should be on strengthening the immune system rather than on spending millions to design and develop vaccines and poisons to broad spray neighborhoods. Drugs, vaccines, and poisonous sprays dump toxins into the system. To strengthen the immune system, avoid the consumption of flesh as food, dairy, sugar, white flour products, and processed foods. These invite disease by dumping toxins into the bloodstream. Disease thrive in any body that is full of toxins.
Biblical wellness involves a simple diet of nuts, fruits, grains, and vegetables and a clean lifestyle, where all harmful things are avoided and good things are consumed or done moderation.
