Worship: For Heaven’s Sake During the height of the religious Great Awakening in America, 50,000 people stood ready, or so they thought, for Jesus to come in 1844. Sadly, only 50 remnant followers of that present truth message in 1844 stood the test. The majority were so disappointed when Jesus did not come as expected that they turned away. God, however, did something special for those who remained. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.
Psalm 101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: He that walketh in a perfect way, He shall serve me.
For Heaven’s Sake…
God revealed to the remnant one of the greatest, most precious truths of Scripture: the message of the sanctuary. They learned that Jesus is our High Priest. They learned that He is actually ministering in the heavenly sanctuary on behalf of believers. Hebrews 8:1-5; Hebrews 9:1-15, 23, 28 helped form the basis of their understanding that the cleansing of the sanctuary did not mean that Jesus was coming to earth to redeem His people. It was not the Second Coming of Christ that should have been expected in 1844. Instead, Jesus, as High Priest, moved from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary, according to the instructions given by God to Moses for the cleansing of the sanctuary on the Day of Atonement.
“What made it dirty was the record of sins transferred to heaven every time we ask for forgiveness. As William Miller and others studied the Old and New Testaments, they discovered that once a year the children of Israel were required to keep the Day of Atonement as a ceremonial holy day. It was a day of judgment where God would review the records of His professed people and miraculously cleanse the sanctuary of the records of all the forgiven and forsaken sins of the people. Thus, this small group who still had faith in God’s method of Bible study understood that 1844 marked the year that Jesus would move from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place to begin the work of Judgment.” HCFL 290
“Once a year, on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest only would go into the Most Holy Place, also called the ‘Holiest,’ and mediate for the people. This symbolized an end-time judgment, where the lives of all who have professed Christ are brought in review. It is an investigative judgment to see if we have allowed Christ to fulfill the law in us. Our life records will be [or are being] examined to see if we [have] allowed God to give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” HCFL 291 (Also read Leviticus 16.)
