Words of Encouragement
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
John 3:16, 17 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
For Heaven’s Sake…
Every week, we have the privilege of looking forward to getting away from those matters that tax the mind and body and be rested and renewed during the sacred hours of the Sabbath. God has given mankind six days to do everything possible to free up one full day just to be with Him. It is a divine appointment from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday, according to Creation Week, as revealed in Genesis 1 and 2.
This was reconfirmed to the Israelites at the beginning of their 40-year journey through the wilderness, before the building of the sanctuary. For forty years, until Israel secured Canaan, God rained Manna from heaven: a day’s portion every day, from the first day to the fifth day. A double portion was provided on the sixth day, for that day and the following day: the Sabbath. The portion alloted for the Sabbath was prepared also on the sixth day. If any Manna were kept over any other day, the Manna spoiled and stank. Thus, the sixth day of the week is still called the day of preparation. For none was prepared on the Sabbath. And none was provided on the Sabbath.
The Sabbath was left free for special worship with the Holy Father and Lord of the Sabbath, through a special unction of the Holy Spirit. As the sacred hours of the Sabbath are quite different from the other days of the week and set apart, so the Manna was a special sweet bread and quite different from the loaves of shewbread placed in the Holy Place of the Sanctuary. The Manna was also physically set apart from the loaves of shewbread. Unlike the loaves kept in the Holy Place of the Sanctuary, the Manna was kept only in the Most Holy Place of the Sanctuary: the Throne Room of God.

For Health’s Sake…
The key to exercising in cold weather is to dress in layers so that you can begin to peel off clothing as your body gets hot. And it will. Pastor Flemons says that covering your extremities is important to promote an even temperature throughout the body. An even temperature equalizes circulation. Equal circulation means proper bloodflow throughout the body system. Exposed legs and arms hinder proper blood circulation, which causes distress to the heart and promotes disease.
It is also important that you stretch to warm your muscles before exercising. Pastor Flemons suggests taking a warm shower that ends with a cold water rinse. It closes the pores of the skin and steels your body against the cold.
Stay hydrated. It keeps the body healthy. Especially is this important in cold weather, because cold air is dry. It doesn’t have the moisture that warm air tends to have. Try drinking a smoothie before you walk for maintaining electrolytes. Drink water as you walk. Pastor Flemons says walking is the best exercise, as it is best suited to the entire body’s needs.
Cold weather should never keep you from exercising. Frigid weather is a different matter, however. Subzero temperatures can cause frostbite to exposed skin in 30 minutes of exposure. So be wise. Sometimes it is better to exercise inside. Just exercise.
