Words of Encouragement

John 14:15-16  If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

For Heaven’s Sake…

First, we must believe that GOD IS: that He is anything we need. God is limitless. God helps us believe that He IS–sometimes by performing wonderful miracles in our early experience with Him. The miracles are necessary sometimes to deliver us from Satan. But He wants us to live an obedient life, so that we won’t need to be constantly and miraculously delivered from Satan’s grip.

It is our choice, however. But if we would follow God obediently, He will make us “a peculiar treasure” to Him “above all people.” We will be set apart from the rest. To Him and in service for Him we will be really special.

In Exodus 19, we find guidelines for worship preparation. God is holy. He appointed sacred time for special worship. And all mankind must be careful how we come into the very presence of God.

For example, we need to be clean. Our bodies need to be clean. Our clothing must be clean and appropriate. Our nakedness must not be seen. We must set boundaries around sacred time and limit socializing and social activities to outside of worship. For “the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him” (Habakkak 2:20).

For Health’s Sake…

A Kaiser Health News article inspired his focus. If poor neighborhoods, according to the article, equal “poor health, relocation is one solution.” The article suggested moving to a nonsegregated community. That may not be an option for poor people, says Pastor Flemons. Poor people anywhere in the city, however, don’t fare as well as poor people who live in the country with gardens, says Pastor Flemons. Nevertheless, you can begin to grow your food wherever you are. He suggests you begin now, even if it is only sprouts.

Sprouts are packed with powerful nutrients. And they are cheaper than processed foods. Pastor Flemons ate sprouts like popcorn during a period of recent back-to-back road trips. Sprouts saved his health and kept him energized. In an article on sprouts at Mercola.com, Dr. Mercola agrees with Pastor Flemons. He says, “One of the most effective ways to achieve optimal health is to eat plenty of whole, organically-grown foods, and sprouts may offer some of the highest levels of nutrition.

“Best of all, you can easily and inexpensively grow sprouts at home. They’re a particularly excellent choice during winter months, when outdoor gardening is limited or ruled out. Another major benefit is that you don’t have to cook them.”
