Worship: For Heaven’s Sake In an extended presentation, Pastor Flemons discussed the history of Protestantism. Particularly two abuses form the target of protest: (1) the intrusion of civil government into religious faith and (2) the arbitrary authority of the church. “Instead of these abuses, Protestantism sets the power of conscience above the magistrate, and the authority of the word of God above the visible church. In the first place, it rejects the civil power in divine things, and says with the prophets and apostles, ‘We must obey God rather than man.’” These two protests also lay at the foundational establishment and in the very Constitution of the United States of America. These two ideals are the secret of its world power. No king. No pope. Only God was honored, and God honored the country in return. Thus, Protestantism predates the Roman Catholic Church, which most commonly is believed to be the sole target of Protestants. Daniel was a Protestant. The three Hebrew boys were Protestants. Jesus and His disciples, both then and now, are Protestants. Are you?
(For further details, please listen to the recording and read 2 Thessalonians 2 in full, as well as GC 203-204, 1SM 204.2, and IRS Publication 557. Pastor Flemons also highly recommends you read The Great Controversy, the National Sunday Law, and his book How Christ Fulfilled the Law, which discusses, among other biblical doctrines, Protestantism and Roman Catholicism in detail.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, said that all he can say for the wellness segment is this. “If you follow God, you will be healthy.” That is supported by the Bible in Genesis 1:29, where the original diet to sustain life is described; in Exodus 15:26, where God promises to keep disease away from those who obey Him; but also in Isaiah 58:6-8. Health is promised to those who “loose the bands of wickedness,” undo the heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, who break every yoke, feed the hungry, house the poor that are cast out, cover the naked, even when it means going without some covering for oneself. In fact, it says that your health will “spring forth speedily.” This is reflected in the final point of TOR’s REFRESHING Way lifestyle acronym: G – Doing GOOD for others. Doing good for others leads to good health for yourself. Good health will be essential in the days ahead. For the Bible prophesies that there will be a time of trouble never before seen in the world. The people of God will be persecuted by people who think they are doing God a favor. God’s people will not be allowed to buy or sell anything. Instead, they will be put to flight according to Matthew 24:20 and Mark 13:18. (Please also read Daniel 12:1; Matthew 24:9; John 16:2; and Revelation 13:17.)

Words of Encouragement
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Isaiah 58:10, 11 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Read also Psalm 119:105, Matthew 22:39, and John 7:37-39.)
