Worship: Pentecost, the Conclusion of the Passover / Wellness: Consulting Spiritualistic Practitioners

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake “Christ’s ascension to heaven was the signal that His followers were to receive the promised blessing. For this they were to wait before they entered upon their work. When Christ passed within the heavenly gates, He was enthroned amidst the adoration of the angels. As soon as this ceremony was completed, the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in rich currents, and Christ was indeed glorified, even with the glory which He had with the Father from all eternity. The Pentecostal outpouring was Heaven’s communication that the Redeemer’s inauguration was accomplished. According to His promise He had sent the Holy Spirit from heaven to His followers as a token that He had, as priest and king, received all authority in heaven and on earth, and was the Anointed One over His people.” {AA 38.3} Pentecost “stood as an integral part of the Passover,” which had had its final “divinely recognized service in the earthly sanctuary” and which will be discussed from various viewpoints in the next presentation or more. [Please listen to the recording and sing with Pastor Flemons the beautiful Hymn 672, “Spirit of the Living God.” The full readings, “The Anointing of the Holy Spirit” and “Pentecost the Conclusion of the Passover,” may be found in The Path to the Throne of God: The Sanctuary, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 96 original; PTG 136, 137 new edition; PTG 71, 72 online.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  We must be humble and seek God’s guidance for healing. We must follow the biblical laws of health to maintain wellness, says Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, who read from Ellen G. White’s Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene for the morning’s topic. Specifically, she advises against consulting spiritualist and clairvoyant physicians. She says doing so is like placing yourself under Satan’s control. She speaks of mothers who hear of “wonderful cures performed by some clairvoyant or magnetic healer.” She says the mother who takes her child to such physicians would be “placing it as verily in the hands of Satan as if he were standing by her side. In many instances the future life of the child is controlled by a satanic power which it seems impossible to break.” {CTBH 111.3} “It is not safe to trust to physicians who have not the fear of God before them,” she says. “If the professed followers of Christ would, with purity of heart, exercise as much faith in the promises of God as they repose in satanic agencies, they would realize, in soul and body, the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.” {CTBH 113.2} (For additional details, please listen to the recording. Words of Encouragement

Luke 18:27  And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Luke 18:13, 14  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalted himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
