Worship: For Heaven’s Sake The candlestick in the holy place of the sanctuary was made of one solid piece of pure beaten gold. It was the “most costly” and “most elaborate of the sacred vessels and represents those whom Jesus is purifying and refining to perfection. “It required many a skillful blow to shape all the details of its ornaments.” In similar fashion, Christ was ‘wounded for our transgression; He was bruised for our iniquities.” And “‘all who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.’ 2 Timothy 3:12. It is trial that purifies the church and fits it to be the light of the world.”
Those who “suffer with him they shall also reign with him in his glory. This experience of suffering for Christ’s sake is absolutely essential to the spiritual life of the Christian. There can be no true, vital godliness without seasons of trial and grief. We are chosen in the furnace of affliction, and the trial of our faith is more precious than gold.” (ST Jan 13, 1888)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, read a health.news article that promotes the early training of healthy habits to children as young as 6 for a better quality of life.
Such promotional efforts are not too soon, as the latest data reported by “the World Health Organization estimates that over 41 million children under the age of five are overweight.” Consequently, young children are put “at risk of complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep problems, and asthma, but it can also negatively impact their self-esteem, which can cause mental health problems and a reduced quality of life later on. This can even lead to a lifelong condition . . . which increases the likelihood of certain cancers, stroke, and shorter life expectancy.”
Currently, says Pastor Flemons, he is in California on a mission to help a 9-year-old with lupus.
