Worship: For Heaven’s Sake “We are not saved in groups,” says Pastor Flemons. Jesus personally died for us. He personally seeks us, as He did the woman at the well in Samaria. It is His desire that we know Him personally and intimately. Knowing Christ is eternal life.
Such a level of intimacy with Christ can only be achieved in daily one-on-one sessions of prayer, praise and the study of His Word. Meditating on the Word of God and applying it in our lives will develop us to the point where we can then help others. Personal devotions saves lives: your own and those you help.
“Our first duty toward God and our fellow-beings is that of self-development. Every faculty with which the Creator has endowed us should be cultivated to the highest degree of perfection, that we may be able to do the greatest amount of good of which we are capable.” CTBH 41.2
[For additional details, please read Luke 15:7; John 3:16; John 4:1-42; John 17:3; Acts 17:11; and Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene (CTBH 41.2). Also, listen to the recording to hear the Word from Pastor Flemons and hear him sing Psalm 5:1-3 and Hymn 43, “When Morning Gilds the Skies.”]
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a WebMD.com article about our kidneys that he says is “a pretty good article!” Basically, the article tells us that the bean-shaped organs are each about the size of your fist and “are located near the middle of your back, just below the rib cage.” These “sophisticated trash collectors” as they are called, “process about 200 quarts of blood to sift out about 2 quarts of waste products and extra water. The waste and extra water become urine, which flows to your bladder through tubes called ureters.” Besides removing wastes, the kidneys release three important hormones that either stimulate the production of blood in the bones, regulate blood pressure, or help manufacture the active form of vitamin D.
Pastor Flemons added that without your kidneys, it would take 800 glasses of water to do what your kidneys do with only about 8 glasses of water every day. The care of your kidneys are greatly helped by drinking pure water every day that is equal to the weight of your body, divided in half, and converted to ounces. That means a 150-pound person should drink about 75 ounces of water daily.
