Worship: Frame and Dust / Wellness: Dehydrated and Don’t Know It

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Pastor Flemons discussed Psalm 103:14.  This verse reveals to us that God, in His magnanimous mercy, considers our frame and dust. Our frame, says Pastor Flemons, is how we are made up.  This includes our physical, emotional, social, and genetic framework.  Some have stronger constitutions than others. Some possess more emotional stamina than others. Our dust, says Pastor Flemons, is our past,  as man was made from the dust of the ground. Some have had pleasant and nurturing childhoods. Others have been abused in a variety of ways including emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal.

God, therefore, considers how we are made up and what we have gone through as He deals us. This is what is meant by “He knoweth our frame.  He remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14.

Pastor Flemons admonished us to strive to be like Jesus, to seek His guidance in our interpersonal relationships. Someone may be angry with you, but the Holy Spirit may impress you that they need a hug.  “Nothing can substitute for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, ” says Pastor Flemons.  Therefore, as God leads us, He will help us consider the frame and dust of those to whom we minister.  We must also consider how the physical and emotional makeup as well as how the past plays a role in the challenges people are facing.

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says you may be dehydrated and not know it.  Water, the beverage needed for every process of elimination, is lacking when disease sets in.  The colon needs water for defecation.  The kidneys need water for urination.  The liver needs water for detoxification.  The lungs need water for respiration. Finally, the skin needs water for perspiration.

“Most people don’t drink enough water,” says Pastor Flemons.  The body then builds up toxins and these toxins cause disease.  He encouraged us to drink 1/2 of our body weight in ounces.  If you talk, sing or have excessive perspiration, you need to drink more, as we lose water through respiration and perspiration.
