Worship: How to Study the Bible, Part 1 / Wellness: Less Is More

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “The sanctuary keeps you focused on Jesus,” says Pastor Flemons. And the Bible gives us Jesus. “When the Bible tells us something, we should take it literally,”until we can see that we must take it symbolically.

Certainly, you must approach the Bible and biblical themes with a humble and teachable spirit. If you approach Bible study with an all-knowing attitude, you won’t learn anything. First you need to learn of Jesus and accept Him as your personal Savior. The relationship with Jesus must be so solidified that we will be willing to leave even our mother church to follow Him.

[For additional details, please read Isaiah 28:7-9; Psalm 131:1,2; Hebrews 5:12; and 1 Peter 2:2. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that if you are guilty of eating too much food, skip a meal and get on the right track. Eat nutrient-rich foods. Eat two meals a day, ideally at 9 – 10 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. If you must eat your first meal really early and require a third meal, make that third meal a smoothie or a fruit meal for easy digestion.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)
