Worship: The Church at Ephesus / Wellness: Drugs Don’t Cure, 3 Reasons

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  We can be helped in our walk with God, as we understand the messages to the seven churches addressed in the Revelation of Jesus Christ that was written by John, the beloved. “The whole book of Revelation was sent to the seven churches,” says Pastor Flemons. The seven churches represent God’s professed people from His ascension to His second coming.

The first church addressed was Ephesus. It was a working church. They were winning souls for the Master. But they left their first love. You can fight against evil. You can hold up a standard and resist apostasy, yet not have the love of God in your hearts, says Pastor Flemons.

To the church of Ephesus, Jesus said, “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast labored, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent” (Revelation 2:2-5).

Repentance is genuine sorrow for sin and turning away from sin.

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a statement from the medical missionary manual, Ministry of Healing, p. 126, from which he reiterated three points.

The first point is that drugs do not cure. Instead they poison. The second point is that drugs do not cure, because they change the form of disease.  Thirdly, drugs do not cure, because the toxins can simply change the location of the disease.

The statement he read is this:

“People need to be taught that drugs do not cure disease. It is true that they sometimes afford present relief, and the patient appears to recover as the result of their use; this is because nature has sufficient vital force to expel the poison and to correct the conditions that caused the disease. Health is recovered in spite of the drug. But in most cases the drug only changes the form and location of the disease. Often the effect of the poison seems to be overcome for a time, but the results remain in the system and work great harm at some later period.” {MH 126.3}

When you put meals before pills, you can be healthy and expect healing.
