Faith Or Fraud / How To End The Fast

Faith or fraud

The Bible declares that we will either have faith or we are a fraud.

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. Deut. 32:20

The word froward in the previous scripture means a fraud.

Another verse gives even more insight.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.  Hab. 2:4

The word “Up” in the previous verse means “presumption.”

Pastor Flemons shared a quotation from the Desire of Ages, p. 200 which informs us that presumption is a counterfeit of faith. Faith claims God’s promises and meets the conditions, while presumption claims God’s promises while the claimant is living in disobedience.

It’s a form of identity theft and that is what makes it a fraud. If we claim God’s name by saying we are Christians, we should be children of faith. If we are disobedient, we are counterfeit Christians.

Wellness: For Health Sake

How to end the fast

This is day 8 of our 10 day fast. Sister Maria Flemons shared tips on how to end our ten day fast this coming Sabbath (Saturday).

She encouraged us to go easy and eat raw for at least 3 days. We were also encouraged not to eat heavy foods such as processed, vegetarian meats or too many beans and nuts. As you might be faced with potluck dinner this weekend, bring your juice and smoothies with you. Have a plan. Finally, we were informed that our stomachs will have shrunk and therefore, we need to keep our servings small at first.

Sharing And Caring

We finished step 4 in the re-creation and restoration section of the cleansing prayer.

To review, step one was asking Jesus to restore the perfect plan that He has ordained for us to follow when His mind conceived us and heal the damage that sin has made in our mind and emotions. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

Step two is to ask Jesus to fulfill His covenant promise by recreating His character in you as He writes His law in our hearts. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

Step three let us know that we are dependent upon the Holy Spirit for every aspect of our lives. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

For today, Step four is to ask the Lord to help you to hear his still small voice and not harbor wrong thoughts and feelings. Is. 30:21 was quoted as a promise. Ezekiel 37:23 is another scripture that be claimed. An addition scripture is John 10:16.

Do not demand Healing but be submissive to god’s will

Said Christ, “If any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.” When we come to Him we should pray that we might enter into and accomplish His purpose, and that our desires and interests might be lost in His. We should acknowledge our acceptance of His will, not praying Him to concede to ours. It is better for us that God does not always answer our prayers just when we desire and in just the manner we wish. He will do more and better for us than to accomplish all our wishes; for our wisdom is folly. { CH 378.3}

We have united in earnest prayer around the sickbed of men, women, and children, and have felt that they were given back to us from the dead in answer to our earnest prayers. In these prayers we thought we must be positive, and if we exercised faith, that we must ask for nothing less than life. We dared not say, “If it will glorify God,“ fearing it would admit a semblance of doubt. We have anxiously watched those who have been given back, as it were, from the dead. We have seen some of these, especially youth, raised to health, and they have forgotten God, become dissolute in life, causing sorrow and anguish to parents and friends, and have become a shame to those who feared to pray. They lived not to honor and glorify God, but to curse Him with their lives of vice. { CH 378.4}

Here is an additional copy of the cleansing prayer

  1. 1. Begin your prayer by praising God, offering thanksgiving to Him by naming specific blessings you have received, especially during the last 24 hours.
  2. 2. Ask our heavenly father to reveal any sin; hurtful memories; negative, sinful behavior; thoughts; feelings; or motives that you may be harboring in your heart. Wait quietly before him allowing him to speak to your heart.
  3. 3. Once he has revealed your sin or painful emotions, confess these by claiming his blood to cover the sin and heal your painful emotions.
  4. 4. Ask Jesus to cleanse your memories of the sin or painful emotions.
  5. 5. Ask Jesus to cleanse you to the third and fourth generation where the tendency to this sin may have been passed on through your lineage.
  6. 6. Ask Jesus to cleanse you from sin and remove the painful emotions from your amygdala.
  7. 7. Ask Jesus to cleanse your record from the sin and the memory of it.
  8. 8. Ask to be covered by the perfection of Christ’s life. You may find Scriptures that reveal the way He acted and felt in a similar situation.
  9. 9. Ask Jesus to blot out the sin and put it upon the head of the scapegoat (Satan).
  10. 10. At this point in your prayer, it is important for you to ask Jesus to cast out every demon that is responsible for leading you into the sin you have confessed and renounced.
