Sermon – When Jesus Swore Twice

by pastor Shelem Flemons

Listen

In this sermon, Pastor Flemons showed that the man in the river in Daniel 12 is the same being in Revelation 10. He swore by Him that liveth forever and ever. This would be the Father and thus the man was Christ.

In Daniel 12, two men were on either bank of the river. The evidence suggests that one represents Daniel and other represents John the Revelator.

In Daniel 12, the prophet was told of the 1260 years of papal supremacy. In Revelation, John was told to share the same prophecy again in the command, “Prophesy Again.” John obeyed and in Revelation 11, 12 and 13, the 1260 year prophecy was “prophesied again five additional times.

This message helps us understand the importance of not setting time after 1844. Listen to the recording and be blessed.

Chapter 30 – Silent Prayer Everywhere – Pages 67 & 68

“The Lord will accept even the silent petition of the burdened heart” SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 2, p. 1014; The Youth’s Instructor, Nov 17, 1898

“There is no time or place in which it is inappropriate to offer up a petition to God. There is nothing that can prevent us from lifting up our hearts in the spirit of earnest prayer. In the crowds of the street, in the midst of a business engagement, we may send up a petition to God and plead for divine guidance, as did Nehemiah when he made his request before King Artaxerxes. A closes of communion may be found wherever we are. We should have the door of the heart open continually and our invitation going that Jesus may come an abide as a heavenly guest in the soul” Steps to Christ p. 99

“Let all who are afflicted or unjustly used, cry to God. Turn away from those whose hearts are as steel, and make your requests known to your Maker. Never is one repulsed who comes to Him with a contrite heart. Not one sincere prayer is lost. Amid the anthems of the celestial choir, God hears the cries of weakest human being. We pour out our heart’s desire in our closets, we breathe a prayer as we walk by the way, and our words reach there Monarch of the universe. They may be inaudible to any human ear, but they cannot die away into silence, nor can they be lost through the activities of business that are going on. Nothing can drown the soul’s desire. It rises above the din of the street, above the confusion of the multitude, to the heavenly courts. It is God to whom we are speaking and our prayer is heard”, Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 174
