Worship: The Seven Churches, Conclusion 2 / Wellness: Exercise Every Day!

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The messages to the seven churches named in Revelation hold special relevance to Christians today. They provide the main features of the seven churches from the period of the ascension of Jesus Christ to His Second Coming. They provide principles to live by and warnings to be heeded. Pastor Flemons shared the final few points of conclusion.

The Protestant Reformation had reached a point where the pope was taken captive. The protest against Catholicism’s assumed ecclesiastical authority had eased. People in Sardis started “playing church,” says Pastor Flemons. The message to the church in Sardis teaches the importance of holding true to Bible doctrine–staying pure and undefiled. The message to the church in Sardis shows what happens when the church becomes a social club, rather than teach Bible principles. It teaches that Christians must hold fast to Bible principles, that they may strengthen what remains. They were warned to watch and pray and repent, or be caught off guard.

The message to the church in Philadelphia teaches the value of patient endurance. It teaches the importance of using what little strength you may have to remain true and faithful to God, rather than deny Him. God will keep  those from the hour of temptation that will come upon all the world. “That is the Sunday Law crisis,” says Pastor Flemons. Overcomers during this crisis will be made a pillar in God’s temple.

During the period of the Philadelphian church God sparked a great religious awakening. The movement broadly spanned across denominational lines, which ended in the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist Church movement, says Pastor Flemons. This movement is to endure and to remain until the Second Coming of Christ. To it an open door remains, and no man can shut it. This is the church that goes through to the City of God.

The Laodicean message teaches that all Christians must be acutely aware of their need and be willing to be rebuked and chastened. It teaches what happens when one trusts in himself and not in God, not in the righteousness of Christ. The Laodicean feels in need of nothing. He feels that his increased goods make him rich, rather than the gold of God’s character or the perfection of Christ’s life. They must be willing to repent or be spewed out of God’s mouth.

[For additional details, please read the entire chapter of Revelation 3; read Revelation 13:10; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 348, “The Church Has One Foundation.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you need exercise every  day. Quoting Leviticus 17:11 and Proverbs 14:30, Pastor Flemons says, “Good blood and its proper circulation is the life of the flesh. God made us to get exercise. God does not want us to be couch potatoes.” The heart is a muscle that needs to work. It needs to pump through some type of exercise, like walking, gardening, or physical labor outside in the fresh air.

“It will add years to your life. It builds your immune system. It balances hormones. It strengthens muscles and bones and helps with digestion. It helps with mental acuity. It’s just so many things that exercise does,” says Pastor Flemons. “There is not a system in your body that exercise does not help,” he added, saying that it is also a great stress reliever.

The only thing left to do, people, he says is to “Get out and get that exercise.”

Words of Encouragement

Job 28:28 The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 78.)

Ezekiel 34:16  I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 74.)

Worship: God’s People Delivered / Wellness: Pain, Stress, Sleep Tea or Tonic

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “When the work of intercession is over and probation has closed, at that time shall Michael stand up, the great Prince which standeth for the children of Thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.’ Dan. 12:1; GC 613. ‘And after these things’ – after the close of the sixth seal, Rev. 6:12-17, the sealing of the 144,000 is finished. Rev. 7:1-8. ‘And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.’ Dan. 12:2. ‘All who have died in the faith of the third angel’s message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God’s covenant of peace with those who have kept His law.’ GC 637. Then the seventh seal is opened – that seal which is characterized by ‘silence in heaven,’ Rev. 8:1, because all the inhabitants of heaven have left and are accompanying Christ at His second coming to claim His redeemed. ‘And at that time Thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book’ – the Book of Life. Dan. 12:1.”

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says an herbal tea can be helpful when you are stressed, in pain, and sleepless. Generally, says Pastor Flemons, the same herb that relieves pain tends also to relieve stress and promote sleep. TOR has developed a formula that addresses all these, called PainXStressYSleepzzzz. It can be ordered as a tea or a tonic, which is a powdered form to be taken with water. The formula contains the following herbs: Valerian Root, White Willow Bark, Peach Leaves, Feverfew, Scullcap, and Stevia.

Words of Encouragement

Genesis 4:6, 7  And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 26.)

Psalm 33:5, 6  He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 22.)

Worship: God’s Eternal Universal Law / Wellness: How to Stop Diarrhea

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God’s law always was. It is. And it always will be. His law is the transcript of His character. It, therefore, is as eternal and as universal as He is.

“In the eternity of the past, before this world was created, God’s law of supreme love was written not in stone, but in the hearts of unfallen beings. Until sin entered the universe, these unfallen beings had no sense of the restrictions of law, for God’s law is a ‘law of liberty.’ James 2:12. Those who obey law have perfect freedom, and are unconcious of its existence.

“Only when one disobeys law does he realize its authority. So ‘when Satan rebelled against the law of Jehovah, the thought that there was a law came to the angels almost as an awakening to something unthought of.’ MB 161. When they discovered that sin, ‘the transgression of the law’ I John 3:4, means death, they began to realize how terrible is transgression, and how unchangeable is God’s law. The two great commandments of LOVE, on which ‘hang all the law and the prophets,’ the same law that existed in the eternity of the past, and was written in the hearts of unfallen beings, will continue to exist as the fundamental law of God’s entire universe in the eternity to come.”

[For additional details, please read James 2:12; Psalm 40:8; Jeremiah 31:33; MB 109; and “His Law Eternal and Universal” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. (PTG 185 original. PTG 251, 252 latest edition. PTG 139, 140 online.) Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons and hear him sing a Scripture song (Galatians 5:1) and Hymn #76, “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that if you have a case of diarrhea, you can stop it naturally. Actually, the body is trying to throw off toxins pretty quickly. In the process, however, the body can become dehydrated. But you can help the body detoxify itself and avoid dehydration by doing three things. Use activated charcoal. Just slowly and carefully add 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal to several ounces of water. Then drink. You may use a straw to minimize staining the lips. Activated charcoal helps absorb toxins and checks diarrhea. The same thing can be done with bentonite clay. Carob powder in a little water is another great choice for slowing diarrhea. And yes. It is that simple, says Pastor Flemons.

Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Also read Ye Shall Receive PowerYRP 364.)

2 Corinthians 9:8, 9  God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.) (Also read My Life Today, ML 103.)
