Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 9 / Wellness: How to Test Yourself for Food Allergies

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
God loves Pharisees. He wants them all saved. And He has a soul-winning plan for a Pharisee, who is willing to forsake Pharisaism, which drives people out of the church. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, probably especially those in Present Truth. He realizes that his goal is extremely difficult with extremely little hope for great success. Still, in light of the Apostle Paul’s conversion and singular contribution to the church, it is well worth the effort.

Basing his talk on Revelation 3:1-6, Pastor Flemons discussed how Pharisaism developed in the Christian church, and particularly in Present Truth today. The church in Sardis provided an example. A social club atmosphere paved the way for Pharisees to emerge within the Christian church. They focused on their social standing and stopped studying the character of Christ.

Pastor Flemons repeated a quote that sums up how the church is cleansed of such attitudes: “Prosperity multiplies a mass of professors. Adversity purges them out of the church.—Testimonies for the Church 4:89 (1876). {LDE 173.5}” “We need persecution,” says Pastor Flemons, “because it brings out who is really walking with the Lord.” After persecution ended for the Protestant Reformers, Pharisaism emerged.

Sadly, Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Revelation 3:1-6; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 593, “In Times Like These.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, taught how to determine for yourself whether you are allergic to a food. First, you need to know how to take your own pulse. He demonstrated how to do that step-by-step. (Please watch the online FB video.) Once you can take your own pulse, eat a food. Chew the food, until it is liquified. Then spit it out and retake the pulse. If the pulse rises significantly, then you have an allergy for that food.

It’s a super simple and quick process that doesn’t involve all the typical complications or costs of standard food allergy testing.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Worship: Work Out Your Own Salvation / Wellness: Oil of Oregano, 5 Amazing Benefits

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Victory over sin is guaranteed. There is no excuse for sin, says Pastor Flemons, because God can and will control our lives, if only we let Him. We must acknowledge and confess our sin to God. We must seek Him, even agonize in prayer, then permit God to dwell within our hearts. Without Him, we cannot even desire our own salvation.

The Apostle Paul in Romans 7:18 confessed that in him is nothing good, not even to do good when the will to do good is present. The will, says Pastor Flemons, is the power of choice. And powerful, it is. There must first be a willing mind, he says. We are told in Philippians 2:13, “it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).

[For additional details, please read Philippians 2:12, 13; Romans 7:182 Corinthians 8:12. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared an article about what very well may be the most important bottle in your medicine cabinet: oil of oregano. A “remarkable little miracle herb,” as it is called in the article, oil of oregano is backed with research studies that confirm its effectiveness against a variety of conditions. Its most impressive use, however, is its ability to fight infections.

“In fact, oregano oil is considered a broad-spectrum antibacterial,” as stated in the UniversityHealthNews.com article. More than that, it also has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. It can even bring down a fever. In fact, by simply mixing it with a base of oil and rubbing it on the chest, it can “clear the lungs and bronchial passages.”

The article mentioned how oil of oregano is effective against UTIs, fungal and yeast infections, parasites, and against food-borne illnesses and digestive issues.

The article provides various ways oil of oregano can be taken. Pastor Flemons shared his recommended method of taking oil of oregano. He simply places the drops of pure oregano oil into a spoon of coconut oil and places it at the very back of the tongue and swallows.

(Please listen to the recording to hear the full segment in which Pastor Flemons shared a testimony. Also please read in full the article “5 Amazing Oregano Oil Benefits.”)

Worship: The Sower – Revival Final Day 7 / Wellness: We’re All Med Missionaries

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The sower in the parable of the sower in Luke 8 is Jesus Christ. “‘He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man.’ Matthew 13:37. Christ had come, not as a king, but as a sower; not for the overthrow of kingdoms, but for the scattering of seed; not to point His followers to earthly triumphs and national greatness, but to a harvest to be gathered after patient toil and through losses and disappointments. {COL 35.1}

“Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His. ‘With His stripes we are healed.’” {DA 25.2}

“‘The sower soweth the word.’ Christ came to sow the world with truth. Ever since the fall of man, Satan has been sowing the seeds of error. It was by a lie that he first gained control over men, and thus he still works to overthrow God’s kingdom in the earth and to bring men under his power. A sower from a higher world, Christ came to sow the seeds of truth. He who had stood in the councils of God, who had dwelt in the innermost sanctuary of the Eternal, could bring to men the pure principles of truth. Ever since the fall of man, Christ had been the Revealer of truth to the world. By Him the incorruptible seed, ‘the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever,’ is communicated to men. 1 Peter 1:23. In that first promise spoken to our fallen race in Eden, Christ was sowing the gospel seed. But it is to His personal ministry among men and to the work which He thus established that the parable of the sower especially applies. {COL 37.1}

“Ministry is not sermonizing,” says Pastor Flemons. “It is coming close to people.”

[For additional details, please read DA 416; DA 25; COL 34-37. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 570, “Not I, But Christ.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you don’t have to do hands-on, full-time medical missionary work to be a medical missionary. “We are all medical missionaries!” he says. “It is part of the Gospel commission that we all do this work.” You don’t have to do the healing.

As you learn how to stay healthy or to regain your own health, simply share the information. In this way, you can help someone else prevent disease. Just that alone is being a medical missionary. Without this work being finished, along with the spreading of God’s Word, says Pastor Flemons, Christ cannot come.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Worship: Isaiah’s View / Wellness: Curing Allergies

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The prophets Daniel and Isaiah were given visions of “Christ’s third triumphal celebration” in Heaven. Whereas Daniel focused on the fiery scene itself, Isaiah focused on the angelic song of celebration. Isaiah’s view is similar to the angels’ call-and-response celebration of Christ’s arrival in Heaven after His Resurrection, as described in Psalm 24:7-10. The angels, who never tire of celebrating the selfless sacrifice of Jesus, ask again and again questions that elicit responses that tell who Jesus is and what He alone has done for the salvation of mankind.

“In these words, Isaiah pictures the fierceness of the lifelong battle between Christ and Satan, from the command of Herod to slay all the children ‘from two years old and under’ Matt. 2:16, in his effort to destroy Jesus, to the final conflict. Then turning away from this picture of His own sufferings and struggles, to extol the goodness of God.” PTG

[For additional details, please read Isaiah 63:1-8; and “Isaiah’s View of the Scene” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. (PTG 151, 152 original. PTG 208, 209 new version. PTG 116, 117 online.) Also, please listen to the recording and hear Pastor Flemons sing Hymn 294, “Power in the Blood.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, continued to focus on ten diseases typically seen from September to April. Curing allergies, he said, requires a diet and lifestyle change in obedience to the laws of health. It is important to understand that the cause of the allergies is undigested protein in the body that is treated like poison or foreign protein to the system.

The body simply mounts a response. Histamine is produced. Dilated vessels cause allergic reactions wherever the histamine is located: eyes or sinuses (causing itchiness), skin (causing hives), brain (causing headaches), and so on.

This happens when one overeats or eats between meals or does anything that hinders digestion, including eating the flesh of animals and their byproducts, like dairy and eggs. Fish is also concentrated protein, says Pastor Flemons. Avoid these foods and eat more raw, especially fruits and vegetables, he says. Eat nuts, seeds and grains to a lesser degree. To those who eat processed meat analogs, he says, “Make your own.” He advises consulting TOR’s cookbook for delicious and healthy recipes.

The key is in keeping the immune system strong through diet and a healthy lifestyle, as expressed in the acronym REFRESHING. Essentially maintaining and regaining health begins with relying on God; eating healthy, that is a total plant-based diet; daily getting fresh air, rest, and exercise. It means using self-control, by avoiding everything that is harmful (like caffeine and nicotine) and doing only in moderation those things that are good. It means daily drinking at least half your body’s weight in ounces of H2O–water, and spending about 20 minutes per day in the sun for vitamin D. Furthermore, you must never give up and you must be willing to give to others. Givers are reserved a special blessing of healing, according to Isaiah 58:6-8.

Then added help can be safely obtained through natural remedies, like echinacea, red clover, nettles, elderberrymilk thistle, dandelion, cornsilk tea, and any other liver-cleansing type herb.

(For more details, please listen to the recording.)
