Worship: Wayside Hearer – Revival Day 1 / Wellness: 4 Components of Biblical Wellness

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Wayside hearers don’t understand God’s word. Spiritual understanding is not about your IQ. It’s about your surrender to God. When you don’t understand the word of God, it is because of the pleasurable trappings of the world.

“The seed sown by the wayside represents the word of God as it falls upon the heart of an inattentive hearer. Like the hard-beaten path, trodden down by the feet of men and beasts, is the heart that becomes a highway for the world’s traffic, its pleasures and sins. Absorbed in selfish aims and sinful indulgences, the soul is ‘hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.’ Hebrews 3:13. The spiritual faculties are paralyzed. Men hear the word, but understand it not. They do not discern that it applies to themselves. They do not realize their need or their danger. They do not perceive the love of Christ, and they pass by the message of His grace as something that does not concern them.” {COL 44.2}

“When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side” (Matthew 13:19).

[For additional details, please read Matthew 13:1-4, 19Christ’s Object LessonsCOL 43-46Proverbs 4:7; 9:10; Revelation 18:2. And listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 245, “More About Jesus.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that there are four components of biblical wellness. They are dependence upon God, cleansing the seven channels of elimination, living a healthy lifestyle, and using remedies found in nature.

Trusting God for healing is of primary importance, whether His instruments of healing are herbal or dietary or lifestyle, or all three. Healing ultimately comes from God. Cleansing the seven channels of elimination assists the body in ridding itself of the toxins that foster disease and death. Herbal remedies might also need to be administered to boost healing. But living a healthy lifestyle pulls it all together and balances it all out in a neat package that we call REFRESHING.

R is Rely on God. E is Eat healthy. F is Fresh air. R is Rest. S is Self-Control. H is H2O, water. I is In the sun. N is Never give up. And G is Give to others.

Worship: How to Deal With Open Apostasy / Wellness: How to Cure an Upset Stomach

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  In the Epistle to the Galatians, Paul fearlessly spoke directly to them, not about them to others, says Pastor Flemons. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Isaiah 65:8 is referring to fresh wine made from a cluster of grapes. That’s grape juice, says Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness. It’s not fermented. When it ferments, it becomes a problem. (Read more below.)

QTQT  A question about an infected toe led to a brief discussion on candida. Nevertheless, an effective remedy for an infected toe is pouring tea tree oil on the toe or immersing the toe in vinegar.

Special Prayer was offered for call-in listener 5933. Please pray for her daughter, Brittany, who is experiencing emotional issues, including anxiety, and suffering in pain with a thigh, swollen now to 40 inches. Pray for help and strength for mother to continue the juicing regimen.

Words of Encouragement

Hebrews 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Romans 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

For Heaven’s Sake…

“In the Galatian churches, open, unmasked error was supplanting the gospel message. Christ, the true foundation of the faith, was virtually renounced for the obsolete ceremonies of Judaism. The apostle saw that if the believers in Galatia were saved from the dangerous influences which threatened them, the most decisive measures must be taken, the sharpest warnings given. AA 385.2

“An important lesson for every minister of Christ to learn is that of adapting his labors to the condition of those whom he seeks to benefit. Tenderness, patience, decision, and firmness are alike needful; but these are to be exercised with proper discrimination. To deal wisely with different classes of minds, under varied circumstances and conditions, is a work requiring wisdom and judgment enlightened and sanctified by the Spirit of God. AA 385.3

“In his letter to the Galatian believers Paul briefly reviewed the leading incidents connected with his own conversion and early Christian experience. By this means he sought to show that it was through a special manifestation of divine power that he had been led to see and grasp the great truths of the gospel. It was through instruction received from God Himself that Paul was led to warn and admonish the Galatians in so solemn and positive a manner. He wrote, not in hesitancy and doubt, but with the assurance of settled conviction and absolute knowledge. He clearly outlined the difference between being taught by man and receiving instruction direct from Christ. AA 386.1

“The apostle urged the Galatians to leave the false guides by whom they had been misled, and to return to the faith that had been accompanied by unmistakable evidences of divine approval. The men who had attempted to lead them from their belief in the gospel were hypocrites, unholy in heart and corrupt in life. Their religion was made up of a round of ceremonies, through the performance of which they expected to gain the favor of God. They had no desire for a gospel that called for obedience to the word, ‘Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ John 3:3. They felt that a religion based on such a doctrine, required too great a sacrifice, and they clung to their errors, deceiving themselves and others. AA 386.2

“To substitute external forms of religion for holiness of heart and life is still as pleasing to the unrenewed nature as it was in the days of these Jewish teachers. Today, as then, there are false spiritual guides, to whose doctrines many listen eagerly. It is Satan’s studied effort to divert minds from the hope of salvation through faith in Christ and obedience to the law of God. In every age the archenemy adapts his temptations to the prejudices or inclinations of those whom he is seeking to deceive. In apostolic times he led the Jews to exalt the ceremonial law and reject Christ; at the present time he induces many professing Christians, under pretense of honoring Christ, to cast contempt on the moral law and to teach that its precepts may be transgressed with impunity. It is the duty of every servant of God to withstand firmly and decidedly these perverters of the faith and by the word of truth fearlessly to expose their errors.” AA 387.1

(This study is based on the Epistle to the Galatians and chapter 36, “Apostasy in Galatia” in The Acts of the Apostles (AA), by Ellen G. White.)

For Health’s Sake…

For stomach relief, you need to neutralize stomach acids, not add more acid. Grape juice is alkaline and will neutralize stomach acids. Simply pour 6 ounces of grape juice in a glass and sip.

Activated charcoal will do the same. It is important to stir activated charcoal into a glass of water, rather than pour water into a glass that already contains charcoal. That would quickly become a black mess. Please, stir 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal into about 6 ounces of water and drink it.

DGL or licorice tablets, as well as ginger tea are also effective remedies for an upset stomach. Still, it is important to adjust the lifestyle to prevent an upset stomach. Eating between meals, eating all day long, chewing gum, eating candy, not drinking enough water, drinking water with meals, all create acid and tend to cause the stomach to be upset.
