Worship: How the Study the Bible, Part 3 / Wellness: Relieve Stress with Exercise

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “God wants us prepared for Heaven. That is most important for us today,” says Pastor Flemons. We must study God’s word precept upon precept. Precepts are principles, doctrines. All the Bible will show its consistency with principle, with doctrine. The Bible is consistent from Genesis to Revelation. The problem is that readers of the Bible typically do not understand how to study biblical precepts. (Read Isaiah 28:10.)

Consider Genesis 6:19, 20, 21; Daniel 1; Deuteronomy 14: Leviticus 11; Mark 7:1-23; and Acts 10:1-28. Particularly note verse 17 and 28. Although all the previous Bible passages clearly agree, Acts 10 must be read through at least through verse 28 to finally understand that it has no reference to food at all, but to racial prejudice. Yet, Acts 10 is commonly used as a reason to eat any and everything, as though God approves or commanded it to be so.

We must realize that some biblical dreams must be taken symbolically, not literally. One verse cannot be used to nullify a host of other verses that agree on a doctrine. No Scripture can be ignored. All Scripture will agree. Studying according to biblical mandate is the key. “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” That’s Isaiah 28:10.

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says when you are overwhelmed to the point you feel stressed out, that is distress. It can kill you. The best thing to do is to take it to the Lord in prayer, while you get out into the fresh air and exercise in nature. Walking and talking to the Lord is best.

This will relieve distress. It will relax muscle tension. It will normalize blood pressure. It will decrease blood fats and blood sugar. It will detoxify the blood and preserve the health of the immune system. It can help save your life.
