Worship: Preparation to Hear Sabbath Declared / Wellness: Nattokinase, Natural Help for Blood Clots

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The full details of the Ten Commandments are listed in Exodus 20. But in Exodus 19, you see the principles that show how to prepare for the Sabbath, which is the heart of the Ten Commandments. Pastor Flemons read through and discussed Exodus 19.

For one, clothes need to be laundered before Sabbath. Friday is the typical day to prepare Sabbath meals. Therefore, Pastor Flemons suggests laundering clothes on Thursdays, for instance. Next, reverence for the Sabbath will lead to guarding the edges of the Sabbath, he says. There should be a gradual movement toward less and less secular activities and more thoughts of sacred things as the day progresses on Fridays toward sunset. Then at sunset on Saturdays, when the Sabbath closes, there should not be an immediate rush to do secular things. Rather, ending the Sabbath with testimony and song and prayer is best, he says. This is how you guard the edges of the Sabbath.

Then the Sabbath is also a time when everyone must prepare to hear and receive the Word of God. God presents Himself to His people in a special way during the sacred hours of the Sabbath. It is part of the sanctification process. With this in mind, husbands are to guard against coming at their wives. And everyone is warned against criticizing or murmuring. Cleanliness of body and mind and heart is essential. These heavenly principles were once entrusted to the nation of Israel. But now all Christians are members of God’s holy nation: spiritual Israel.

(For additional details, please read Exodus 19. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Shelem Flemons and hear him sing “Holy Day, Jehovah’s Rest.”)

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that the popular blood thinner Coumadin is really rat poison. It is an ingredient in D-Con, he says, that causes the blood to thin and the rodent to experience excessive thirst that, when quenched, ruptures blood vessels.

He explained that nattokinase is a natural blood thinner with no health risks. Rather, it is considered a superfood. According to a Dr. Axe article, “Nattokinase has been shown to help prevent blood clots, promote blood flow and improve heart health. It’s also been shown to be useful in the treatment of conditions like high blood pressure, stroke, atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. (28)”

Pastor Flemons suggests one to two capsules of nattokinase, at least twice a day and preferably three times, depending upon your risk factor. It is best on an empty stomach, he says. That is why he recommends keeping it on the nightstand to be taken first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. It has been a traditional food in Japan for thousands of years and may explain why Japanese tend to live 4.5 years longer than people in America.

Other natural blood thinners include lemon water, garlic, and cayenne. All are recommended and can be safely taken in addition to nattokinase and instead of coumadin, says Pastor Flemons.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Words of Encouragement

Revelation 12:12  Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (Also read Ye Shall Receive PowerYRP 349.)

2 Peter 1:5-8  Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Also please read My Life Today, ML 95.)

Worship: All About the Ten Commandments / Wellness: Ketchup Will Catch Up with You!

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God’s Ten Commandments are spiritual. They must be kept in order to be saved, including the one that commemorates God as Creator, the fourth commandment. It identifies the biblical seventh-day Sabbath, which is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. But Pastor Flemons says that you are not to worry about your Christian ancestors who didn’t know about the Sabbath. They will be saved. Nevertheless, anyone who keeps all nine but breaks one is guilty of breaking all of them. Love to God, as well as faith in Him, is manifested in keeping all of them.  That’s what Jesus taught. They were given for all of mankind and were never nailed to any cross. (For further details and Bible references, read Chapter 4, “Everything You Need to Know About the Ten Commandments,” in the book, How Christ Fulfilled the Law, by Pastor Shelem Flemons.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says it is better to make your own condiment to replace ketchup. He says that ketchup has no nutrition or fiber. It contains vinegar, which hinders digestion and adds parasites. It contains high fructose corn syrup. Only 1 tablespoon of ketchup typically has about 4g of sugar. The article he shared reports, “You might as well be starting an IV of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), because that’s primarily what glugs out of the bottle.” If you choose to make your own condiment, you are encouraged to consult TOR’s Total Vegetarian Cookbook.

For Heaven’s Sake…

MYTH #8, The Sabbath was for the Jews!

Mark 2:27 “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

“Adam and Eve were not Jews, as Jews are descendants of Abraham,” says Pastor Flemons. The Sabbath is, therefore, for all human beings.

MYTH #9, The Lord’s day is Sunday!

Mark 2:28 “Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.”

“It is often said, ‘I worship on the Lord’s day (referring to Sunday).’ The Bible declares that the Sabbath is the Lord’s day. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath day. That makes Sabbath (Saturday) the Lord’s day and not Sunday,” says Pastor Flemons.

MYTH #10, God is pleased with me even though I continue to break His Sabbath!

1 John 2:4 “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

“God loves us,” says Pastor Flemons. “He declares that if we love Him and do not keep His commandments, our entire religious experience is a lie! This is a hard saying but God is serious about His word and His truth.”

MYTH #11, We cannot really keep God’s commandments. They are too hard for us to keep even with God’s help!

1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

“You don’t hear born again Christians saying, ‘I can’t help myself. I have to rob, rape, and kill someone today!'” says Pastor Flemons. You only hear that when church members talk about the Sabbath. “What’s so grievous about resting on the Sabbath?” asks Pastor Flemons.

MYTH #12, The apostles started worshipping regularly on Sunday in honor of the resurrection.

1 Corinthians 16:2 “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.”

“This did not authorize a change in the day of worship. It was a time management principle that  eliminated the need to take up offering in church on the Sabbath, when the apostle would come to preach,” says Pastor Flemons.

Acts 20:7 “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. ”

This was a Saturday night service. The Bible clearly states that the day ends and begins at the setting of the sun. The “EVENING AND THE MORNING” is one day, according to the Bible.  (Read Genesis 1:5,8,13,19, 23, 31.)

“If you read the entire story, someone fell asleep because of the lateness of the hour and fell out of the window.  Paul preached late because he was leaving the next day,” says Pastor Flemons.

John 20:19 “Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”

“This did not authorize a change of the day of worship. They were assembled behind closed doors on the first day, because they were hiding from the Jews.” says Pastor Flemons. “The Apostle Paul continued to worship on the Sabbath.”

Acts 17:2 “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.”

MYTH #13, The Sabbath was changed by the early disciples from Saturday to Sunday.

“The Roman Catholic Church declares that it changed the biblical day of worship!” says Pastor Flemons. As the Bible declares no such change, all of the references must come from the Catholic Church itself.

“Sunday is our mark of authority…the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change (Saturday Sabbath to Sunday) was her act…And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things.” H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

“Is not every Christian obliged to sanctify Sunday and to abstain on that day from unnecessary servile work?  Is not the observance of this law among the most prominent of our sacred duties?  But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday.  The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.” James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (1917 edition), p. 72-73 (16th Edition, p 111; 88th Edition, p. 89).

“For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday.  We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday.  Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible.” Catholic Virginian, October 3, 1947, p. 9, article “To Tell You the Truth.

“Question: How prove you that the church had power to command feasts and holydays?

“Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same church. Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism On the Obedience Due to the Church, 3rd edition, Chapter 2, p. 174 (Imprimatur, John Cardinal McCloskey, Archbishop of New York).

“Question: Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept?

“Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; -she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day of the week, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.” Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism On the Obedience Due to the Church, 3rd edition, Chapter 2, p. 174 (Imprimatur, John Cardinal McCloskey, Archbishop of New York).

“Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century.  The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday.  ‘The day of the Lord’ was chosen, not from any direction noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church’s sense of its own power….People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically…keep Saturday holy.” St. Catherine Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.

“Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday….Now the Church…instituted, by God’s authority, Sunday as the day of worship.  This same Church, by the same divine authority, taught the doctrine of Purgatory long before the Bible was made.  We have, therefore, the same authority for Purgatory as we have for Sunday.” Martin J. Scott, Things Catholics Are Asked About, 1927 edition, p. 136.

“Question – Which is the Sabbath day?

“Answer – Saturday is the Sabbath day.

“Question – Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

“Answer – We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 364), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.” Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50, 3rd edition, 1957.

“Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments?  I answer yes.  Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day – Saturday – for Sunday, the first day?  I answer yes.  Did Christ change the day’?  I answer no!”  “Faithfully yours, J. Card. Gibbons.” James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, Md. (1877-1921), in a signed letter.

“Some theologians have held that God likewise directly determined the Sunday as the day of worship in the New Law, that He Himself has explicitly substituted the Sunday for the Sabbath.  But this theory is now entirely abandoned.  It is now commonly held that God simply gave His Church the power to set aside whatever day or days she would deem suitable as Holy Days.  The Church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days.” John Laux, A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies, 1936 edition, vol. 1, p. 51.

“Friends,” says Pastor Flemons, “if we want to know truth, God has plainly set it before us.  The change of the Sabbath was a bold and defiant move to exalt a church’s tradition above the Holy Scriptures.  Will you take your stand on the side of truth, which establishes God’s law? Or will you stand with tradition in defiance and violate the law and authority of God?”

Jesus said, “In vain do you worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt. 15:9).

Our worship is vain if it is based upon manmade commandments. May the Lord help you choose the narrow way to life and happiness and avoid the broad (popular) way, which leads to death!

For Health’s Sake…

Times of Refreshing spells biblical health R-E-F-R-E-S-H-I-N-G: The R is Rely on God; E – Eat healthy; F – Fresh air; R – Rest; E – Exercise; S – Self-control; H – H2O, Drink water; I – In the sun; N – Never give up; and G – Give to others.

Rely on God

1. Study the Bible daily for at least a half hour.  Continually increase your Bible study time.
2. It is best to study the scriptures as soon as you awaken in the morning. Also, it is good to meditate upon the scriptures before going to bed.
3. As you study, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.
4. Have devotion with your family morning and evening.  Family devotion may consist of songs, prayer, Bible or inspired reading and discussion.
5. When you find a Bible promise, believe it as though it has already happened.
6. Promises of healing should be committed to memory.  Some of these healing promises are found below.

Exodus 15:262 Chronicles 7:14Jeremiah 30:17Jeremiah 17:14
Psalm 103:1-33 John 2Isaiah 57:18-19James 5:14-15

7. The healing miracles of Jesus should also be studied.  The following table gives the main texts for the healing miracles of Christ.  Study each one carefully and draw principles from Christ’s example.

John 4:43-54  The nobleman’s son
Mark 1:29-31  Peter’s mother-in-law
John 5:1-15  The invalid at Bethesda
Mark 1:40-45  First healing of leprosy
Mark 2:1-12  Paralytic lowered through the roof
Mark 3:1-6  Man lowered through the roof
Luke 7:1-10  Man with a withered hand
Luke 7:1-10  The centurion’s servant
Matt. 9:27-31  Two blind men
Matt. 9:32-34  A dumb demoniac
Matt. 12:22-32  Blind and dumb demoniac
Mark 5:25-31  Woman with an issue of blood
Mark 7:31-37  Deaf-mute of Decapolis
Mark 8:22-26  Blind man near Bethsaida
John 9:1-41  Man born blind
Luke 13:10-17  Crippled woman
Luke 14:1-4  Man with dropsy
Luke 17:11-19  Ten lepers
Mark 10:46-52  Blind Bartimaeus
Luke 22:50-51  Malchus’ ear

God’s promises, described in the Bible as “exceeding great and precious,” are the means by which we place our trust in Him. “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust,” 2 Peter 1:4. When I believe God’s promises, I first of all “Believe that He is,” that is to say that I believe that God exists and therefore is able to heal me.  I must also believe that “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him,” Hebrews 11:6.  This means that I believe not only that God is able, but that He is thrilled with the thought of healing me if my recovery will bring glory to His name.  He loves to reward the diligent seeker.

What does diligent seeking mean?

Pastor Flemons quotes James 2:26, “Faith without works is dead,” and says, “We are to cooperate with God in the work of health restoration. We are to be obedient to the health principles in the Bible in order to have true faith. A faith that does not incorporate works, obedience, is dead faith, and God cannot use this faith to heal the body, mind or soul. We are to accept His promises as though the gift has already arrived. The power is in the promise! ‘Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God,’ 2 Corinthians 7:1. Jesus told the two blind men these words, ‘According to your faith, be it unto you,’ Matthew 9:29.”

Worship: Catholicism’s Mark of Authority / Wellness: Less 30 Meds

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Catholicism claims a mark of authority. A collection of Catholic statements about this mark is printed in Chapter 9 of the book How God Fulfilled the Law, by Shelem Flemons. A few were read today. (They are below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Since the 80s, she (unnamed) took 30 medicines twice a day to treat diabetes, hypertension, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety. Concerned about the weight gain and swelling that she was experiencing and paranoid that it was going to take her life, she sought the Lord for direction. She became convinced that she needed to get off the drugs and sought the help of Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministry. With the help of her newfound sister and Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, she began making dietary changes at home. Upon arrival at TOR Wellness Retreat, she had lost 15 pounds, was on 15 medications twice a day, and was determined to take no more drugs. Against counsel, she went cold turkey and was supported in her effort. She reports normal blood pressures and sugar levels and a general feeling of well-being and gratefulness.

Worship: The Sanctuary / Wellness: TOR Cancer Protocol

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Pastor Flemons introduced the study of the sanctuary, using these Bible texts: Exodus 25:8,16,21; Hebrews 8:1,2,5; Psalm 77:13; John 14:6; Exodus 26:30; Colossians 2:14-16; Deuteronomy 10:2; 31:26; Exodus 31:18 and Exodus 20:1-17. Key points include the fact that the first sanctuary (also called tabernacle) is located in heaven. It is the true tabernacle. The one Moses built was essentially a scaled model of the one in heaven as shown to him by God. Another key point is understanding the difference between the Ten Commandments, which was written by the finger of God, and the handwriting of ordinances, which were written by Moses. These ordinances are those referred to in Colossians, which were nailed to the cross. The Ten Commandments (also called two tables of testimony in Exod 31:18) are eternal.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons presented the Times of Refreshing cancer protocol. It includes ten days of juicing, elements of the REFRESHING way, a diet of mostly or all raw food, essiac tea or TOR’s CAnswer2More tea, hyperthermia treatments, poultices, coffee enemas, and eliminating harmful toxins.
