For Heaven’s Sake…

Point #1: We are sanctified by truth, which is contained in the Bible. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

Point #2: We must continue in God’s word in order to be a disciple of Christ. “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31,32).

Point #3: We are purified by obeying the truth. “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently” (1 Peter 1:22).

Point #4: Truth is so important to Christ that He identified Himself with it. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

Point #5: We must keep God’s Commandments in order to have truth. “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4).

For Health’s Sake…

The undisputed king of rock and roll music, Elvis Presley, died of an embarrassing case of chronic constipation, according to Presley’s doctor of twelve years. He was by Elvis’ side and tried to resuscitate him the day of his death.

Now in his newly released book “The King and Dr. Nick,” Dr. George “Nick” Nichopoulos debunks the widely reported cause of Presley’s death in 1977. It was not “from cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular heartbeat, possibly brought on by drug dependency, obesity and a weak heart,” as originally presumed.

“According to Dr. Nick, the autopsy revealed that Presley’s colon was 5 to 6 inches in diameter (whereas the normal width is 2 to 3 inches) and instead of being the standard 4 to 5 feet long, his colon was 8 to 9 feet in length,” the article reports.

“Nichopoulos also believes that Presley’s prominent weight gain in the years prior to his death, was not a result of overeating or eating the wrong foods, as they initially assumed. The doctor reveals that Elvis’ bloated appearance was due to his severe constipation.” And the article further reported that Elvis opted not to undergo the usual colostomy, the prevalent surgical treatment of the day.
