Worship: Persecution at the Temple Gate / Wellness: Deliverance From Drugs

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake After a reading of Acts 4:1-22, the story about Peter and John being detained overnight for healing and teaching, Pastor Flemons discussed that it was a matter of restraining religious liberty. He then quoted from Counsels on Health by Ellen G. White:

As religious aggression subverts the liberties of our nation, those who would stand for freedom of conscience will be placed in unfavorable positions. For their own sake, they should, while they have opportunity, become intelligent in regard to disease, its causes, prevention, and cure. And those who do this will find a field of labor anywhere. There will be suffering ones, plenty of them, who will need help, not only among those of our own faith, but largely among those who know not the truth. {CH 506.1} The shortness of time demands an energy that has not been aroused among those who claim to believe the present truth. {CH 506.2}

Peter and John were threatened, but they could be detained no longer. They had to be freed. Pastor Flemons encourages obeying God rather than man and getting medical missionary training in preparation for the times ahead.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  One of the guests attending the Times of Refreshing Wellness Retreat brought with her a plethora of prescribed medicines, shown during the broadcast. Dr. Flemons, a doctor of naturopathy, counted at least 14 bottles of medicine, not counting the vitamins. Through a lifestyle change (the REFRESHING Way) that includes cleansing, detoxification, and vegetable juice feasting (bombarding the body with nutrition), Dr. Flemons says the guest is feeling healthy enough to break away from what she feels is overmedication. He says she came to the wellness retreat because she wanted to be delivered from drugs.

QT/QT  What can be done to alleviate hypoglycemic symptoms between meals? Dr. Flemons suggests drinking licorice root tea like water, unless someone has high blood pressure. But he encourages retraining the body’s over-response to sugar intake by eating vegetables for one month. During this time, even fruits should be avoided or very limited.
