Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Most people have heard of Jacob’s ladder, but not Peter’s ladder. Peter’s ladder sets the course of Christian growth to maturity. (Read more below.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake The body craves nutrients, not drugs. Drugs mimic nutrients, thereby deceiving the mind, which then sets up a dependency on the drug through a behavioral response pattern to the drug that is mimicking nutrients. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, provides a nutritious tonic for smokers who want to stop smoking. (Read more below.)

For Heaven’s Sake…
Peter’s ladder is found in 2 Peter 1:5-8:
“What God gives us,” says Pastor Flemons, “is not just pardon for the past but power for the future.” He pointed out that faith is necessary for victory; and victory is necessary to overcome the world. Often, though, there is confusion about faith. It is often confused with presumption. Faith claims God’s promises and obeys the conditions. Presumption also claims God’s promises but ignores the conditions.
Virtue is power. In the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34, the power healed. Added to faith, it can also be the power to obey. In any case, it is the power to overcome.
When knowledge is added to power, power increases. Through ignorance, things can easily be handled in the wrong way, says Pastor Flemons. “And God never wants to leave us in ignorance.”
For Health’s Sake…
For smokers who want to stop smoking, Pastor Flemons suggests mixing all the ingredients below and taking 1 teaspoon of it whenever a craving hits:
Stop Smoking Tonic
3/4 cup, honey (Agave nectar may be substituted when honey isn’t tolerable.)
1/4 cup, lemon juice
1/3 teaspoon, peppermint oil
1 pinch, cayenne pepper
1 oz bottle, lobelia tincture
Lemon juice cleanses toxins from the bloodstream. Peppermint oil calms nerves. Cayenne pepper strengthens other herbs and increases circulation (blood flow).
Psychological cravings or dependency must be dealt with. It helps to change your environment from triggering the habit. Remove all ash trays from the surroundings. Visit smoke-free places. Ask God for help. Pray continually for victory, as you cooperate with God.
Take contrast showers daily. For 3 minutes, shower in hot water, followed by 30 seconds of cold water. Do 3 rotations. Then rest for 30 minutes. During this treatment, brushing the skin with a skin brush helps to pull out toxins from the skin.
Eat 2 to 3 meals a day with lots of fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of fluids: preferably, water.
