Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Errors permitted in Christianity gave rise to the occult. But the occult really began in the garden of Eden. It began with the first lie ever told there. (Read more below.)
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Most diseases according to medical science have no known origin. They are considered idiopathic. But the Bible is clear. Just as you can trace the path of a bird that flies or wanders from point A to point B, you can trace the path of disease. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement
Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Malachi 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and pure them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

For Heaven’s Sake…
The occult is based on the belief that when you die you’re not really dead, that you can communicate with the dead, and that human beings have supernatural powers. All this was insinuated in the first lie ever told in the garden of Eden: “Ye shall not surely die.” In other words, you won’t be really or entirely dead. Eve listened and believed the lie, even though God’s word was clear.
Genesis 3:1-5 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day that ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
The most successful lie is one that has an element of truth. After eating the fruit, Eve and Adam, who joined her, came to know evil as well as good. God would have had them (and us) never know evil–only good. If people believed that the dead are really dead as the Bible makes clear, there would be no occult, no Hinduism, no Buddhism, no Satanism, no palm reading, no seances or any other system of belief that is based on communication with the dead prior to resurrection day and the second coming of Christ, says Pastor Flemons.
The occult could not have originated on earth without the consent of Adam and Eve. The occult could not have gained ground within the general population of Christian believers without the consent of Roman Catholicism. During their reign over Christianity, many pagan beliefs took root within the body of Christian believers. Consequently today, at Christian and pagan funerals occultish statements are often made about the dead as though they are alive.
The Bible is clear. The breath that we breathe was given by God. It belongs to Him. When we die, He takes it back. The dead know nothing. They have no reward. They retain no memory. Their thoughts die. And unless Jesus makes divine exception in a special resurrection, the dead remain in silence until the day of resurrection when Jesus returns from heaven. Job, of the Old Testament, knew it. Martha, who was taught by Jesus during New Testament times, knew it. And Paul warned of the mystery of iniquity working already within the early church (2 Thessalonians 2:7).
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Psalm 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
Psalm 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Psalm 115:17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
Psalm 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
Job 14:12-14 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. O that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
John 11:23, 24 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Martha’s brother, Lazarus, was dead. Jesus called it sleep and announced a special resurrection prior to the resurrection of the last day at His second coming.
John 11:11-14 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
For Health’s Sake…
“As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come” (Proverbs 26:2).
“I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out” (Job 29:16).
“Disease never comes without a cause. The way is prepared, and disease invited, by disregard of the laws of health. Many suffer in consequence of the transgression of their parents. While they are not responsible for what their parents have done, it is nevertheless their duty to ascertain what are and what are not violations of the laws of health. They should avoid the wrong habits of their parents and, by correct living, place themselves in better conditions. {MH 234.1}” Ellen G. White, Ministry of Healing, p. 234.1.
“We must search out the cause!” says Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy. Your grandparents and parents may have suffered and died with diabetes. You don’t have to follow their course. You may correct dietary and lifestyle habits that will cause you to avoid the same path. Do it for yourself and for those who love you that your quality of life may be good, even in old age.
“Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system. {MH 127.1}” Ellen G. White, Ministry of Healing, p. 127.1
The symptoms of a cold, for example, include coughing, sneezing and fever. The body is attempting to expel the germs from the body by coughing, sneezing and sweating. Cough suppressants do the opposite. The body needs help with cleansing and detoxification of the blood and systems and strengthening of the immune system for healing. Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministries hold frequent wellness retreats just for for improving an already healthy body and regaining the health of the sick.
