Wellness: For Health’s Sake Make sure your meals for funerals aren’t funeral meals. Funeral meals are the cause of much suffering and early death. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, explains. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement
Isaiah 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
Psalm 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

For Heaven’s Sake…
In short, Paul says speakers must speak one at a time. In any gathering, that just makes common sense. Nevertheless, Paul’s advice was essential to avoid meetings that had begun convening with everyone speaking at the same time and women perhaps becoming unruly.
Paul says this about that in 1 Corinthians 14:23, 33:
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
To avoid such confusion, Paul gives these specific guidelines in 1 Corinthians 14:27-31:
27 If any man speak in an unknown [unfamiliar] tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
The Bible is clear about public meetings and the order for speaking to audiences that speak a language that is different from the speaker. We all do well to follow the guidelines for the sake of the gospel and for the sake of simply understanding any speaker.
For Health’s Sake…
What does a funeral meal consist of? We could list a lot of typical menu selections. However, here’s the example Pastor Flemons discussed: fried chicken, ham, macaroni and cheese, caramel cake, pie, and cola.
Fried anything tends to clog arteries, says Pastor Flemons. Chicken production (it’s no secret) depends on antibiotics and harmone injections for unnatural rapid cell division for quicker growth of the chicken population. The problem with that is this: rapid cell division is essentially cancer.
Ham is full of horrible toxins. It is not fit for human consumption, according to Leviticus 11:7 and 8. It promotes disease (like diabetes), heart attacks, and strokes.
Macaroni and cheese promotes constipation (because of the cheese) more than any other thing. It acts like glue and sticks to the walls of our intestines. The dish is high in bad cholesterol. It is not heart-healthy food.
Caramel cakes and pies are primarily full of sugar and coated with sugar, which weakens the immune system. The other main ingredient is flour, which clogs the system. In caffeinated beverages, caffeine is combined with sugar. It is a poor combination for wellness. As a result, the nervous system is irritated, and unhealthy toxins are dumped into the bloodstream.
Collectively, this meal and others like it will put your health at risk. Over time your lifespan will be shortened, if no positive changes are made. God designed the body so that your body can endure much abuse and still heal if biblical wellness lifestyle practices are followed. Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministry exists to help put everyone on the proper course for wellness.
