For Heaven’s Sake…
The Beatitudes help us understand what should be our attitudes, says Pastor Flemons. When our attitudes are right, we can receive the blessings of the LORD.
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Commenting on this verse in the book Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing, Ellen White wrote these inspired words:
“Jesus does not present to His followers the hope of attaining earthly glory and riches, and of having a life free from trial, but He presents to them the privilege of walking with their Master in the paths of self-denial and reproach, because the world knows them not. (MB 29.1)
“While the Lord has not promised His people exemption from trials, He has promised that which is far better. He has said, ‘As thy days, so shall thy strength be.’ ‘My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Deuteronomy 33:25; 2 Corinthians 12:9. If you are called to go through the fiery furnace for His sake, Jesus will be by your side even as He was with the faithful three in Babylon. Those who love their Redeemer will rejoice at every opportunity of sharing with Him humiliation and reproach. For Health’s Sake…
There are entry level juicers. These juicers spin fast. This accelerates oxidation and causes the breakdown of the juice fairly rapidly. Therefore, it is best to consume the juice within 24 hours. Otherwise, nutrition will be lost. Juicers in this category are not the best for juicing leafy vegetables or grasses, like wheat grass. A popular juicer in this category, says Pastor Flemons, is the Jack Lalanne, as well as Black and Decker. These cost around $100.
Costing around $250 (on last check) is the popular Champion juicer. It has a powerful motor that also spins fast. The nutrition in the juices last longer. The Champion has attachments that allow for making butters, spreads, sherbert, and ice creams.
Gear juicers, liker Green Life, Green Star, Green Power, and Omega, don’t spin fast. They pull in and crush as the gears meet. This allows a lot less oxidation and breakdown of juice nutrients. This maintains the nutritive properties up to 3 or 4 days.
The last category is the Cadillac of juicers. The juice lasts up to 4 to 5 days. It makes pulp, which is then placed in its nylon bag and pressed. Juicing this way allows almost no oxidation. Because TOR is frequently dealing with chronic illnesses and at times need to juice daily for a number of people, the Norwalk juicer is best.
Juicing is a wonderful blessing from the Lord, says Pastor Flemons. Blending, he quickly adds, is not the same thing.
