Worship: What to do when you’re where you don’t wanna be / Wellness: Wrap your pain in cabbage

Please see the property Times of Refreshing is claiming in faith as our new headquarters to save lives and train lifesavers. Then please ask God how you can be blessed to help. Give here: GoFundMe.com/TORSavesLives.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Through no fault of their own, young men and women can end up being where they don’t want to be. Such was the case with Daniel and the three Hebrew boys. Such is the case with soldiers, like Desmond Doss (whose documentary–not the movie–Pastor Flemons highly recommends). Still, if wholly yielded to God’s purpose, mighty and miraculous things can be achieved. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, taught how to make a cabbage poultice for arthritic joints and sprains. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement

Proverbs 15:33  The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Revelation 21:4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Daniel and his three friends were young captives in Babylon. They had been taken from their childhood home. Little did they know that God would use them in such ways that their stories still stand as testimonies of what God can do with even the youth who are willing to trust Him and stand firm on the biblical principles of rightdoing.

Instead of being commonly imprisoned, Daniel and his friends were selected for a three-year intensive training period to fill positions of trust in the kingdom of Babylon. They were exposed to the luxury of royalty in magnificent cities and taken into the court of the world’s greatest monarch: King Nebuchanezzar. These Hebrew boys were handpicked because they were of a royal line. But their Jewish lives were, by comparison, very simple.

Their names were changed to Chaldean deities. Yet, they were not compelled to renounce their faith in God in favor of Chaldean idolatry. However, the king intended that they would be seduced into idolatry by close association with idolatrous customs.

These Hebrew boys were mere human beings with the passions of any normal person. Yet their experiences show “the triumph of principle over temptation, of purity over depravity, of devotion and loyalty over atheism and idolatry.” (PK 489.2) They refused, right from the beginning, the royal food and wine normally required for those in their class. They asked to be tested with a simple plant-based diet and water. The ten-day test proved their simple diet best, as their appearance and intellect was superior than that of their companions. That allowed them the privilege of of continuing their simple diet for the entire course of training.

“For three years the Hebrew youth studied to acquire ‘the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.’ During this time they held fast their allegiance to God and depended constantly upon His power. With their habits of self-denial they united earnestness of purpose, diligence, and steadfastness. It was not pride or ambition that had brought them into the king’s court, into companionship with those who neither knew nor feared God; they were captives in a strange land, placed there by Infinite Wisdom. Separated from home influences and sacred associations, they sought to acquit themselves creditably, for the honor of their down-trodden people, and for the glory of Him whose servants they were. PK 484.2

“The Lord regarded with approval the firmness and self-denial of the Hebrew youth, and their purity of motive; and His blessing attended them. He ‘gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.’ The promise was fulfilled, ‘Them that honor Me I will honor.’ 1 Samuel 2:30. As Daniel clung to God with unwavering trust, the spirit of prophetic power came upon him. While receiving instruction from man in the duties of court life, he was being taught by God to read the mysteries of the future and to record for coming generations, through figures and symbols, events covering the history of this world till the close of time. PK 484.3

“When the time came for the youth in training to be tested, the Hebrews were examined, with other candidates, for the service of the kingdom. But ‘among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.’ Their keen comprehension, their wide knowledge, their choice and exact language, testified to the unimpaired strength and vigor of their mental powers. ‘In all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm;’ ‘therefore stood they before the king.’ PK 485.1

“At the court of Babylon were gathered representatives from all lands, men of the highest talent, men the most richly endowed with natural gifts, and possessed of the broadest culture that the world could bestow; yet among them all, the Hebrew youth were without a peer. PK 485.2

“The spirit that possessed Daniel, the youth of today may have; they may draw from the same source of strength, possess the same power of self-control, and reveal the same grace in their lives, even under circumstances as unfavorable. Though surrounded by temptations to self-indulgence, especially in our large cities, where every form of sensual gratification is made easy and inviting, yet by divine grace their purpose to honor God may remain firm. Through strong resolution and vigilant watchfulness they may withstand every temptation that assails the soul. But only by him who determines to do right because it is right will the victory be gained. PK 489.3”

(This study is based on chapter 39, “In the Court of Babylon” in Prophets and Kings (PK), by Ellen G. White.)

For Health’s Sake…

It’s easy. He says simply strip out the rib of the cabbage leaf to flatten it. Then pulverize the leaf with a meat tenderizer or a rolling pin. That releases the juices within the cabbage leaf. Then sprinkle Epsom salt onto the leaf and wrap the swollen joint. Then wrap a clingy plastic, like Saran wrap, around the joint covered by the cabbage leaf. This will protect sheets if worn overnight. The wrap may be left on 6 to 8 hours.

This will relieve pain and reduce inflammation in joints and sprains. This is a natural and effective treatment with no side effects or contraindications.
