Words of Encouragement

Hebrews 10:23-25  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

1 John 4:10-11  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

For Heaven’s Sake…

The prophet Daniel continued to be a wise and respected counselor, even to Darius, king of the Medes and Persians, following the fall of the Babylonian empire. As he stood apart from and above all the other royal advisers in Nebuchadnezzar’s court, so did he in the royal court of Darius. Darius set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty princes and over them, three presidents. Daniel was the first president. His blameless conduct made him preferred by Darius, which excited jealousy among the other presidents and princes.

These jealous schemers flattered King Darius into signing a decree that would forbid “any person in the realm to ask anything of God or man, except Darius the king, for the space of thirty days. A violation of this decree should be punished by casting the offender into a den of lions.”    PK 540.1

“The prophet’s enemies counted on Daniel’s firm adherence to principle for the success of their plan. And they were not mistaken in their estimate of his character. He quickly read their malignant purpose in framing the decree, but he did not change his course in a single particular. Why should he cease to pray now, when he most needed to pray? Rather would he relinquish life itself, than his hope of help in God. With calmness he performed his duties as chief of the princes; and at the hour of prayer he went to his chamber, and with his windows open toward Jerusalem, in accordance with his usual custom, he offered his petition to the God of heaven. He did not try to conceal his act. Although he knew full well the consequences of his fidelity to God, his spirit faltered not. Before those who were plotting his ruin, he would not allow it even to appear that his connection with Heaven was severed. In all cases where the king had a right to command, Daniel would obey; but neither the king nor his decree could make him swerve from allegiance to the King of kings.” PK 540.4 …

“Thus the prophet boldly yet quietly and humbly declared that no earthly power has a right to interpose between the soul and God. Surrounded by idolaters, he was a faithful witness to this truth. His dauntless adherence to right was a bright light in the moral darkness of that heathen court. Daniel stands before the world today a worthy example of Christian fearlessness and fidelity.” PK 542.1

When King Darius was told of Daniel’s prayers to God, the monarch immediately realized the snare that had been laid for Daniel. It was not their zeal for him as king that the decree had been urged. But the law of the Medes and Persians could not now be changed. Daniel was cast into the den of lions. And the king fasted through the long and quiet sleepless night.

The next morning the king was to realize the power of God in that Daniel was still alive, unharmed by the hungry lions. Not so for the scheming accusers of Daniel. Daniel was released from the den unharmed. They were cast into the den of lions with their wives and children. The hungry lions never allowed them to reach the bottom of the den.

“The wicked opposition to God’s servant was now completely broken. ‘Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.’ And through association with him, these heathen monarchs were constrained to acknowledge his God as ‘the living God, and steadfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.’ PK 545.1

“From the story of Daniel’s deliverance we may learn that in seasons of trial and gloom God’s children should be just what they were when their prospects were bright with hope and their surroundings all that they could desire. Daniel in the lions’ den was the same Daniel who stood before the king as chief among the ministers of state and as a prophet of the Most High. A man whose heart is stayed upon God will be the same in the hour of his greatest trial as he is in prosperity, when the light and favor of God and of man beam upon him. Faith reaches to the unseen, and grasps eternal realities. PK 545.3

“Heaven is very near those who suffer for righteousness’ sake. Christ identifies His interests with the interests of His faithful people; He suffers in the person of His saints, and whoever touches His chosen ones touches Him. The power that is near to deliver from physical harm or distress is also near to save from the greater evil, making it possible for the servant of God to maintain his integrity under all circumstances, and to triumph through divine grace. PK 545.3”

For Health’s Sake…

Pastor Flemons reviewed a  ScienceDaily.com article that suggests restricting the use of antibiotics. Antibiotics counteract the beneficial effect of whole grains on the body, according to the long-term study “Diets, Cancer and Health” among 57,000 Danish people from 1993-1997. More than 2,200 participants developed cancer between 1996-2009. “Go figure,” says Pastor Flemons.

Antibiotics destroy good bacteria that keeps bowels active and checks toxins from overwhelming the blood system. “Toxins are what cause cancer,” he says.  Whole grains help keep the bowels active in eliminating toxins. When antibiotics are given and are used over a long period, it leads to biological changes within the body that lead to cancer, particularly cancer of the colon. “Drugs, we have been told in the book Ministry of Healing, work great harm in the body,” says Pastor Flemons.

Natural antibiotics like oil of oregano, golden seal tea, colloidal silver, and turmeric are effective in killing viruses, bacteria, and even sexually transmitted diseases. Olive leaf oil and citrus juices are also effective natural antibiotics. They work wonders for the body.

Oil of oregano is extremely powerful and will burn if used alone. You definitely want to avoid getting oil of oregano on your lips. Here’s how to use oil of oregano. Put about half a teaspoon of coconut oil or flax oil or olive oil onto a spoon. Then add 3 or 4 drops of oil of oregano into the oil in the spoon. Then drop the spoonful of oil combination into a glass of pineapple juice and drink it, using a straw placed toward the back of the mouth. Drink it 3 to 4 times a week. Do not use it every day. Allow 2 to 3 days off (like the weekend) before beginning again. It is an excellent and powerful natural antibiotic. Try it.
