Words of Encouragement
Psalm 4:4-5 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Numbers 23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
For Heaven’s Sake…
“Jesus was ever a lover of children. He accepted their childish sympathy and their open, unaffected love. The grateful praise from their pure lips was music in His ears, and refreshed His spirit when oppressed by contact with crafty and hypocritical men. Wherever the Saviour went, the benignity of His countenance, and His gentle, kindly manner won the love and confidence of children. DA 511.1
“It is still true that children are the most susceptible to the teachings of the gospel; their hearts are open to divine influences, and strong to retain the lessons received. The little children may be Christians, having an experience in accordance with their years. They need to be educated in spiritual things, and parents should give them every advantage, that they may form characters after the similitude of the character of Christ. DA 516.1
“Parents, in the training of your children, study the lessons that God has given in nature. If you would train a pink, or rose, or lily, how would you do it? Ask the gardener by what process he makes every branch and leaf to flourish so beautifully, and to develop in symmetry and loveliness. He will tell you that it was by no rude touch, no violent effort; for this would only break the delicate stems. It was by little attentions, often repeated. He moistened the soil, and protected the growing plants from the fierce blasts and from the scorching sun, and God caused them to flourish and to blossom into loveliness. In dealing with your children, follow the method of the gardener. By gentle touches, by loving ministrations, seek to fashion their characters after the pattern of the character of Christ. DA 516.1
“When Jesus told the disciples not to forbid the children to come to Him, He was speaking to His followers in all ages,–to officers of the church, to ministers, helpers, and all Christians. Jesus is drawing the children, and He bids us, Suffer them to come; as if He would say, They will come if you do not hinder them. DA 517.2

For Health’s Sake. . .
The body functions well when the kidneys are normal. Kidneys keep in balance the levels of electrolytes, such as potassium and sodium. A comprehensive metabolic profile (CMP) shows the health of the kidneys and liver and basically how the metabolism of your body is functioning.
One of the first minerals listed on a CMP is sodium. The amount of sodium in the blood regulates blood pressure. It is the job of the kidneys to filter out excess sodium. Otherwise, the excess sodium will increase blood volume. This is because sodium attracts water. This increased blood volume raises the blood pressure above a safe level. Normal working kidneys will pull out the excess sodium with the water that is bound to it in the form of urine.
A normal level of potassium, often gotten in a plant-based diet, will relax muscles. But too much potassium in the blood will kill you. It is essentially a concentrated form of potassium that is used in cases of capital punishment. This can never happen just by eating a plant-based diet, however. Nevertheless, there is a problem when kidneys are weak. They cannot filter out excess potassium. Therefore, keeping the kidneys strong and healthy is vital to whole health.
BUN, blood urea nitrogen, deals with the coordination of the kidneys and liver. The metabolic processes of the liver create ammonia, which contains nitrogen. When combined with other elements, nitrogen creates urea, which helps form urine. Under normal conditions, the kidneys eventually excrete the urea. When the levels of blood urea nitrogen register too high on the CMP, this signals that the kidneys are challenged and may be in trouble.
Creatinine is a toxin. The level of creatinine in the blood is a good measure for how well the kidneys are functioning. Normal creatinine levels register between .7 and 1.33. That means the kidneys are functioning as normal.
The GFR, gromerular filtration rate, is the result of a mathematical formula that compares factors of a person (like size, age, sex and race) to their serum creatinine levels. It is the best test to judge the health of the kidneys’ ability to filter out excess wastes and fluids. It also calculates the stage of chronic kidney disease.
Pastor Flemons, therefore, recommends drinking sufficient water daily for the health of the kidneys. That would mean drinking half your body’s weight in ounces. He says, “Sodas don’t make healthy kidneys. Drink water.”
