Worship and Wellness: Why Ephraim and Dan Are Not on the List

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it hardly behooves any of us to talk about the rest of us.” (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says anger and bitterness negatively affect your health. When we are engaged in a spirit of darkness, he says, as in backbiting, taking up a reproach, accusing others without giving them an opportunity of clearing themselves, we promote Satan’s agenda, which leads to sickness and death. Cherishing things above the law of God is the spirit of Satan. It is the act of clinging to idols. In these ways, the spirit of darkness is gathered about us and literally sicken our mortal bodies. But he that is faithful and obedient to God will be free of the “diseases … brought upon the Egyptians.” And those who serve humanity will have their health “spring forth speedily.” (Read Exodus 15:26 and Isaiah 58:6-8.)

Words of Encouragement

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1 Corinthians 2:12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (Also read SC 109.)

For Heaven’s Sake…

We must overcome idolatry and gossip, says Pastor Flemons. When you are joined to idols and when you gossip, sharing the faults of others, you lose. That’s what happened to Ephraim and Dan. Once numbered among the twelve tribes of Israel, in the end, neither was left on the list of the saved.

When we are convicted by the Spirit of God and then defy the conviction, doing our own thing anyway, we are expressing the spirit of the beast. When we maintain membership in an organization where we can no longer worship in spirit and in truth, we grieve the Holy Spirit and deny the word of God. That is a fatal mistake.

Individuals are going through to the heavenly kingdom, says Pastor Flemons, not an entity. We are never saved as a group, but we can be lost in one.
