Worship: Unity Reform / Wellness: Hypertension Leads to Dementia

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Unity reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms included the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, and Faith reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says. The prayer of Jesus Christ in John 17, expresses the desire that Christians be one, unified, as are Jesus and His Father.

“Study prayerfully the seventeenth chapter of John. This chapter is not only to be read again and again; its truths are to be eaten and assimilated. ‘For their sakes,’ Christ prayed: ‘I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; that they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me. And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.’ John 17:19-23. {8T 80.1}

“Are these words, of such wonderful import to us, to be always neglected? God calls upon those who profess to be His children to study these words, to eat them, to live them. He calls upon them to seek for unity and love, else the candlestick will be moved out of its place. {8T 80.2}

But unity is not unity, if truth has to be waived, says Pastor Flemons. Christ is not among those who unite in opposition to truth.

“The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced uniformity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed—however important they might be from a Bible standpoint—must necessarily be waived.” {GC 444.2}

However, “When we are united in the unity for which Christ prayed, this long controversy that has been kept up through satanic agency will end, and we shall not see men framing plans after the order of the world because they have not spiritual eyesight to discern spiritual things.”

Says Pastor Flemons, “Let’s answer the prayer of Christ.” Let us unite in full truth.

Worship: For Health’s Sake “High blood pressure greatly increases risk of dementia among women in their forties, new study finds” is the title of the health.news article that Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, reviewed for listeners. The study was conducted with more than seven thousand women. They found that “women with high blood pressure in their forties have a 73 percent higher risk of dementia.” The study was “published in Neurology – the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.”

Pastor Flemons says that hypertension leads to challenges in the brain, because the life of the flesh is in the blood. He stated, “When you have hypertension, you usually have poorer circulation. Hypertension leads to a stroke. That means the arteries would tend to be blocked.” He says that he thinks that “deprivation of blood and nutrients in that blood, and oxygen from that blood over time produces the challenges in the brain.”

Therefore, he says, “Let’s eat the way God would have us eat. A whole food, plant-based diet. Lots of sprouts. Lots of vegetables and fruits.” Also eat whole grains, including uncommon ones, like couscous and millet. Learn the value of a total plant-based diet, he says. It is God’s original plan for your life to keep your arteries open.
