Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 7 / Wellness: Rebound for Your Health!

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
God loves Pharisees. He wants them all saved. And He has a soul-winning plan for a Pharisee, who is willing to forsake Pharisaism, which drives people out of the church. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, probably especially those in Present Truth. He realizes that his goal is extremely difficult with extremely little hope for great success. Still, in light of the Apostle Paul’s conversion and singular contribution to the church, it is well worth the effort.

Basing his talk on Matthew 23:24-28 Pastor Flemons discussed the importance of focusing on the inner being, rather than neglecting the inner person to focus on the personal good works that others can see. He encourages all and especially Pharisees to forsake hypocrisy and focus on having the fruit of the Spirit, as mentioned in Galatians 5:22 and 23: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. These are what brings others to Christ, especially those closest to you.

Sadly, Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that rebounding is a healthy practice with many benefits. He recommends the Urban Rebounder, which has special springs and costs closer to the $100 range.

Regardless of the one chosen, he advises the elderly, or those not surefooted, to place their mini trampoline near a very sturdy object to hold onto for safety. Some even have the built-in anchors. But by all means, include rebounding in your exercise program, especially on those days when walking outside is prohibitive.

Rebounding has wonderful health benefits. It boosts lymphatic drainage, which is important to a healthy immune system. It increases bone mass, and improves digestion. It is twice as effective as running, without the extra stress on ankles and knees. It increases endurance and helps improve balance. It helps improve the effects of other exercise and helps circulate oxygen throughout body to increase energy. It also improves muscle tone throughout the body and helps support the thyroid and adrenals. Besides, it’s fun, which itself is healthy to the whole body; as a merry heart doeth good, like a medicine. (Read Proverbs 17:22.)

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria read the promise of Psalm 6:9 and passages from “When Much Prayer Is Needed,” Chapter 8, in the book Power of Prayer, by Ellen G. White, p. 24-25. The reading of four quotations reveals that we must take time for meditation, for prayer, and for the study of God’s word; that God wants men who can not merely sermonize but who can also meet the urgent needs of the people; that through much prayer you must labor for souls; and how to go on unto perfection.
