Worship: The Heavenly Sanctuary Anointed / Wellness: 5 Habits for Longevity

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Jesus is the real or “antitypical” Sacrifice represented by the lamb, “a male of the first year” and the “ram of consecration.” Respectively, the lamb and ram pointed to the beginning and then the close of Christ’s ministry on earth: the court of the sanctuary. The service in the holy places of the heavenly sanctuary could begin only after Jesus was “offered on Calvary,” ascended to the heavenly sanctuary and was anointed High Priest, and “‘the most Holy,’ the heavenly sanctuary, had been anointed.” “This was the last prophetic event before the close of the 70 weeks” prophesied in Daniel 9:24. Had this been understood by the Millerites in 1844, they would not have experienced the Great Disappointment.

(For further details, listen to the recording and read Daniel 9:24; Luke 24:39; Acts 1:7-11; Psalm 24:7-10, 3;)

[This study was based on “The Heavenly Sanctuary Anointed” in The Path to the Throne of God: The Sanctuary, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 83 original; PTG 118, 119 new edition; PTG 60 online.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, presented a health.news article that provides five simple lifestyle habits for adding ten years or longer to your life and also likely a better quality of life. Analysis of nearly 89,000 women over a period of 34 years and nearly 45,000 men over a period of 23 years have led researchers to yield to these conclusions. “Participants who practiced a low-risk lifestyle appeared to live 10 years longer on average than those who did not.  . . . The study also proved that people who maintain healthy lifestyle habits are 74 percent less likely to die during the period of the study. Moreover, adopting these five healthy habits decreases the possible development of cardiovascular disease for both men and women. Dying from cancer is also less likely to happen.” What are the five healthy habits? The article states “not smoking, eating a healthy diet, getting enough physical activity daily, maintaining a low body mass index, and drinking alcohol in moderation. Pastor Flemons and TOR would amend the healthy habits to say that a healthy diet is a “whole food, total plant-based diet, with lots of fruits and vegetables.” Also, a low body mass index does not mean striving for the Barbie and Ken dolls image.  And rather than drink alcohol in moderation, we would advise you drink no alcohol at all, according to the biblical wellness standard, as explained in detail by Pastor Flemons. (For those details, please listen to the recording. Also read Proverbs 23:1-7, 20, 21, and 29-35.)

Words of Encouragement

1 John 5:1-3  Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments and his commandments are not grievous.

Psalm 103:17-18  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and His righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Worship: How to Study the Bible, Pt 2 / Wellness: Davidia’s Breast Cancer: The Good, Bad, Ugly, the Blessings

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “The greatest hindrance to spiritual growth is [] religious leaders,” says Pastor Flemons. We must be willing to be humble and be willing to follow Christ, even if it means being drawn from that which we love and what has nourished us in the past, including our mother church in any denomination. Then we can be led into all truth by the Holy Spirit. (Please read Isaiah 28:9, 10; Jeremiah 6:2; Isaiah 51:16; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Hosea 11:4; John 16:13; Acts 17:11. Please listen to the recording to hear more important details and sing with Pastor Flemons “Footprints of Jesus.”)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, introduced Davidia Dozier, who testified about her challenges with breast cancer that was the size of a golf ball when it was discovered. She walked us through her mammogram, biopsy, dietary changes, and through hearing her oncologist announce, “You have cancer.” She described surgery when the cancer was only the size of a thumbnail. She described the accompanying fear that led to her decisions to follow chemo and radiation therapy. She described how she lived before and afterward. She described her first sessions and the ensuing side effects and compared them to the results of following God’s plan for health. Her testimony is riveting and passionate and informative. It can save lives. Please hear it for yourself: the good, the bad, the ugly, the blessings.

Psalm 103:17, 18  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Psalm 91:14-16  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.
